Gabe Ikard reported \u201cthe vast majority\u201d of players on the roster didn\u2019t want Gundy to leave.<\/p>\n<p>However, it sounds like they couldn\u2019t sway his mind.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Talked to a few current players about the situation earlier today. Seemed like the team had talked through it and the vast majority wanted Cale Gundy to stay. But ultimately\u2026Cale did what he thought was best for the program. <\/p>\n<p>Sad night. What I said was not malicious; it wasn\u2019t even intentional. Still, I am mature enough to know that the word I said was shameful and hurtful, no matter my intentions.
