The series debuts on HBO on Aug. 21.\u00a0 \u00a0 The show starts with King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) having to choose an heir, either his dutiful daughter, Princess Rhaenyra, or his wayward and violent brother, Prince Daemon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s so much that Daemon gets away with because his brother is the king,\u201d Considine said in an interview with Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not until he breaks my heart with his words that I do act,\u201d Considine added.\u00a0 \u00a0 The show is based on passages of George R.R. Martin\u2019s 2018 novel \u201cFire &#038; Blood,\u201d which gave a brief history of the Targaryen family 200 years before \u201cGame of Thrones.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0 The crux of the show lies with the relationship between two women, Alicent Hightower and Princess Rhaenyra. \u00a0 \u00a0 The two are close until Rhaenyra\u2019s mother dies and Alicent marries King Viserys and becomes the queen, demanding that her children become the heirs to the throne.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re going there from the (point of view) of two women for the first time,\u201d said Emma D\u2019Arcy, who plays the older Princess Rhaenyra in the generation-spanning story. \u201cIt\u2019s a show that interrogates patriarchy, misogyny and power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some fans complained about the finale of the original \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d series. \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d co-creator Ryan Condal said the ending of the new series is already planned.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do have a plan out in front of us, but the main idea is to tell as much story as the book gives us and instead of overstaying your welcome, to get out and leave them wanting a little bit more,\u201d Condal said.<\/p>\n<p> (Reporting by Rollo Ross; Writing by Lisa Richwine; Editing by Leslie Adler)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/the-iron-throne-up\/file-photo-actors-portraying-knights-guard-the-iron-throne-at\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/tagreuters.com2022binary_LYNXMPEI770OP-VIEWIMAGE.jpg\" alt=\"tagreuters.com2022binary_LYNXMPEI770OP-VIEWIMAGE\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Rollo Ross LOS ANGELES (Reuters) \u2013 It\u2019s been three years since HBO\u2019s juggernaut show \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d came to a close.
