Mud Lake is approximately 40 miles southwest of Memphis, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cHis family had a weekend at a cabin on the family\u2019s property,\u201d Jefferson County Sheriff Maj. Gary McClain said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwaonline.com\/news\/2022\/aug\/08\/police-probe-drowning-death-of-district-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cIt appears he decided to go swimming \u2026 and he went missing. No one was with him, he was alone,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>A family member called 911 after Bueker did not return after sunset, according to a statement released by the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office. Deputies were dispatched just before midnight late Saturday.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>Search teams continued into early Sunday, with a boat using equipment that detected a body at the bottom of the lake at approximately 9:16 a.m. local time.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cThe boats used were equipped with side-scan sonar, which provides a birds-eye view of the water,\u201d Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jeffcoso.org\/press_view.php?id=1360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>The body was then recovered and positively identified by the family.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cI truly pray that the successful recovery of Judge Bueker\u2019s body by our deputies and Arkansas Game &#038; Fish Wildlife Officers brings some sense of closure to the Bueker Family and those who knew him best,\u201d Woods shared. \u201cThe scour of emotions they must feel right now is devastating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>Bueker\u2019s death is being investigated as an accidental drowning. An autopsy is also planned, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>Bueker, who also served as the lead attorney of his own law firm in Stuttgart, had been a district judge in Arkansas since 2012.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>Stuttgart Mayor Norma King Strabala shared a statement in a Facebook post regarding the incident.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cI, along with the City of Stuttgart and the Grand Prairie community are shocked and heartbroken at the loss of Jeremy Bueker,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mayornormastrabala\/posts\/pfbid0dvAfrcFhzJZTyifzqv9gfdHnkS5REcuNyq3xLsn1FbHWzwobn1nMigKEf6eSTKvTl?__cft__[0]=AZWJ2s_uioSLn2gRKEPew_x_sOpPUlRoN-Y12OJnStN6Q3REdD1w-16ABVXpHvQ-naw7Eyvrfkpkgk5UfowcYglGxtTN8ta6ZMXYm4xKPKH7jftcb4GKsiSyVAqWpyY88X8m6LiV3kwWJ3D9-1KNE-vtkh8-iBXYF-rY-Qi_sY97cQ&#038;__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-t=\"{\" n>\u201cJeremy was an important and special person in this community, serving as a good friend, fierce attorney, and as Arkansas County Northern District Court Judge for nearly a decade.
