Josh Hawley grilled FBI Director Christopher Wray on the allegations at a Senate hearing<\/p>\n<p>Two GOP senators have urged the\u00a0Department of Defense (DoD) to immediately investigate whistleblower allegations that hundreds of Afghan evacuees who appeared on official watchlists were not properly vetted before they were released into the United States.<\/p>\n<p>According to the DoD whistleblower, the Biden administration failed to properly vet 324\u00a0Afghan evacuees who appeared\u00a0on the DoD\u2019s Biometrically Enabled Watchlist (BEWL), which includes known suspected terrorists,\u00a0said\u00a0U.S. Sens. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-josh-hawley\">Josh Hawley<\/a> (R-Mo.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The BEWL identifies individuals whose biometrics have been collected and determined by analysts to be threats or potential threats to national security, including known suspected terrorists.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/01\/2.61877967-2-1200x800.jpg\"><\/a> A full flight of 265 people supported by members of the UK Armed Forces on board an evacuation flight out of Kabul airport (MoD) <\/p>\n<p>Hawley and Johnson said the whistleblower also alleges that\u00a0White House and DoD officials instructed agency personnel to \u201ccut corners\u201d and not conduct full fingerprint tests on the evacuees at staging bases in Europe, \u201cin order to promote the rushed evacuation from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-afghanistan\">Afghanistan<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further, the whistleblower alleges that\u00a0Department of Homeland Security (DHS) staff were authorized to delete old biometric data at their discretion, said the senators, who went on to say that this is a \u201ctroubling development that could threaten national security and public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Whistleblower Allegations Raised in Letter <\/p>\n<p>Hawley and Johnson raised the DoD whistleblower\u2019s allegations with\u00a0DoD Acting Inspector General\u00a0Sean O\u2019Donnell in a letter on Thursday (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawley.senate.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-08\/Hawley%20Afghan%20Vetting%20Whistleblower%20Letter.pdf\">pdf<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe write to you with concern over new allegations raised by a Department of Defense (DoD) whistleblower. This information may show the Biden Administration\u2019s failure to vet those evacuated from Afghanistan was even worse than the public was led to believe.
