The week before, the number of total people who receive consecutive benefit payouts rose by 48,000.<\/p>\n<p>The report comes days after the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/days-after-biden-said-were-not-going-to-be-in-a-recession-us-economy-enters-recession\/\">entered<\/a> a recession, something\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/as-us-enters-recession-biden-says-we-are-on-the-right-path\/\">Biden<\/a> and his <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/watch-biden-press-sec-wont-let-go-of-putin-tax-hike-narrative\/\">staff<\/a> have repeatedly attempted to deny.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Reserve in June <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/bidens-about-to-lose-one-of-his-economic-talking-points\/\">predicted<\/a> massive job loss through the end of next year, saying jobless claims could reach as high as 7.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>Biden on May 20 claimed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/05\/20\/statement-from-president-biden-on-record-low-state-unemployment-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responsibility<\/a> for the then-low unemployment rate, which he said is &#8220;the direct result of my economic plan to rebuild the economy from the bottom up and the middle out through the historic American Rescue Plan and a nationwide vaccination strategy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The president made that statement as inflation rose to levels not seen in 40 years, forcing Americans to spend more for basic needs.\u00a0Many economists have blamed skyrocketing inflation on Biden&#8217;s $2 trillion stimulus package. One of the administration&#8217;s favorite economists, meanwhile, says a White House-backed bill to reduce inflation will do little to help, the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/even-bidens-favorite-economist-says-inflation-reduction-act-wont-reduce-inflation\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unemployment benefit claims increased last week, according to a Department of Labor report released Thursday.
