Marsha Blackburn asked during a Senate Judiciary hearing on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s the terminology I would use,\u201d Wray said. \u201cBut I think there\u2019s been a lot written on this subject, uh, both in the special counsel\u2019s report, the inspector general\u2019s report.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"3iOsfmqYcsLdu6vn88AgUxlY71500BjxclFmthESeT2y4kzn7UN5jDGbPMbVFZTCeRpzXuSXdkLo\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Blackburn: &#8220;Do you agree that Russian collusion was a hoax?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wray: &#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t use that terminology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Blackburn: &#8220;Do you agree that Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop was not Russian disino?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wray: &#8220;I can&#8217;t comment on that.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/h74Wfyeotb\">pic.twitter.com\/h74Wfyeotb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1555235020004102145?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 4, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>When Blackburn asked Wray to answer her initial question with a simple \u201cyes\u201d or \u201cno,\u201d Wray repeated: \u201cthat\u2019s not a term I would use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both of the reports Wray mentioned in his answer indicate that the allegation that Trump colluded with Russia was based on <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/18\/spygate-101-a-primer-on-the-russia-collusion-hoaxs-years-long-plot-to-take-down-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fraudulent reporting<\/a> by Christopher Steele based on accounts from Russian national Igor Danchenko, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/sco\/pr\/russian-national-indicted-making-false-statements-fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">later indicted for lying to the FBI<\/a>. This was the Steele dossier which Democrats peddled to the corporate media and which fueled the information operation, also known as the hoax, designed to disqualify Trump from being elected despite voters\u2019 wishes. <\/p>\n<p>Wray also disclosed to Republican Sen. Thom Tillis that, so far, none of the FBI agents who were involved in the SpyGate campaign against Trump have faced serious consequences. Instead, more than six years after the scandal, some FBI bureaucrats are still being evaluated by the agency\u2019s disciplinary arm, the Office of Professional Responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Wray claimed that any potential discipline has been slowed \u201cbecause we are working closely with cooperating closely with and assisting the Durham investigation.\u201d That was shortly before Wray refused to tell Blackburn whether the FBI believes the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>As Ranking Member Chuck Grassley noted in his line of questioning, \u201cthe FBI greenlit a full investigation into Trump based on liberal news articles and information derived from liberal nonprofits\u201d but \u201cclosed investigative activity and sources that provided verified or verifiable reporting on Hunter Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blackburn also noted in her interrogation that \u201cthere is the perception that we have two tiers of justice: one for people that are favored and one for ordinary Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
