The sole surviving son of President Joe Biden previously sat on the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/23\/hunter-biden-senate-report-ukraine-china-burisma\/\">board<\/a> of a Ukrainian energy company, drawing a six-figure salary, and more recently conducted natural gas <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/13\/hunter-biden-pushed-chinese-natural-gas-sale-laptop\/\">deals<\/a> with his uncle Jim Biden and a Chinese Communist Party-controlled entity.<\/p>\n<p>Grassley asked Wray whether or not Hunter Biden\u2019s drawn salary could constitute an intelligence risk, an assessment with which Wray agreed. Grassley did not name Hunter Biden directly, referring to him as a \u201cpolitically-exposed person.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/31\/hunter-biden-cefc-china-intelligence-records\/\"><strong>(RELATED: GOP Senators Demand Intelligence Records On Hunter Biden\u2019s Dealings With Chinese Energy Conglomerate)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the FBI received information that foreign persons had evidence of improper or unlawful financial payments to elected officials or other politically-exposed persons, would that pose a national security concern?\u201d Grassley asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell I think the kind of conduct you\u2019re describing is typically something that very closely, through our efforts at malign foreign influence, it starts to shade into a blend of what we call malign foreign influence with potential public corruption. And it\u2019s something we take seriously,\u201d Wray said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Republicans in both chambers of Congress have suggested that the Biden family\u2019s business dealings could constitute a national security risk. Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz directly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/28\/matt-gaetz-matthew-olsen-hunter-biden\/\">asked<\/a> an assistant attorney general whether or not Biden is personally a \u201cnational security threat,\u201d and a report released in 2020 by Grassley and Johnson found at least one Obama administration official <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/23\/hunter-biden-senate-report-ukraine-china-burisma\/\">warned<\/a> that the Burisma position \u201ccould create the perception of a conflict of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When he was vice president, Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/14\/report-hunter-biden-introduced-joe-burisma-executive\/\">met<\/a> with several of Hunter Biden\u2019s business <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/10\/01\/2014-photo-joe-hunter-biden-golf-ukraine-gas-exec\/\">partners<\/a>. James Gilliar, a business associate of Hunter Biden\u2019s, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/23\/joe-biden-hunter-oneida-china-cefc-coporate-records\/?filter_by=review_high&#038;p=374&#038;page=15&#038;ref=hexometer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">questioned<\/a> whether or not ten percent of Oneida Holdings, a joint venture with CEFC China Energy, would be held by Hunter \u201cfor the big guy.\u201d Tony Bobulinski, another business partner, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/22\/hunter-biden-joe-biden-china-bobulinski\/\">corroborated<\/a> that \u201cthe big guy\u201d referred to Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/12\/11\/hunter-joe-biden-cefc-office-mates\/\">requested<\/a> keys to his office be made for his father and stepmother, Jill Biden, in 2017.
