It does not depict actual Russian ships being sunk.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian military has extensively used drones in its war against the invading Russians, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/world\/2022\/08\/03\/ukraine-drone-fight-robertson-pkg-intl-intldsk.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>. The military has been particularly effective with its utilization of the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drone, which has been used to destroy dozens of Russian vehicles, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/vikrammittal\/2022\/06\/23\/ukrainian-military-is-changing-its-tactics-with-the-bayraktar-tb2-drones\/?sh=578503901ec0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forbes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oryxspioenkop.com\/2022\/02\/defending-ukraine-listing-russian-army.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oryx<\/a>, a blog that tracks losses in the war.<\/p>\n<p>A Facebook video, viewed more than 12,000 times, allegedly shows footage of a TB2 drone attacking and destroying Russian ships. \u201cToday Russian Submarines, Aircraft Carrier and Boats Were Sunk by Ukrainian Bayraktar,\u201d reads the video\u2019s caption.<\/p>\n<p>The footage actually shows gameplay from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arma3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA 3<\/a>, a military-style video game published by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohemia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bohemia Interactive<\/a>. An internet search reveals the video first appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5rHkGfEX3S8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> July 31 with the same title.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The video\u2019s description explains it shows a simulation, not real footage from the war in Ukraine. \u201cTHIS IS ONLY SIMULATION, NOT REAL LIFE!\u201d reads part of the description. \u201cI make military simulations using Arma 3 Simulator. Bohemia allows to make YouTube videos from their game and monetize it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The user, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC4hESZxYvuE_0fXTCna7GDw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xadarov<\/a>, has also posted other ARMA 3 videos based on the conflict in Ukraine. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/11\/fact-check-ukraine-destroys-russian-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Ukrainian Forces Destroying Eight Russian Tanks?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"info\" class=\"style-scope ytd-video-primary-info-renderer\">This is not the first time clips from the video game have been misidentified as real war footage.
