Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) was killed in a car crash on Wednesday, authorities confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The crash occurred at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday between two vehicles near the intersection of SR 19 and SR 119 near Nappanee, authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc57.com\/news\/jackie-walorski-killed-in-crash\">told<\/a> local media.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the Elkhart County Sheriff\u2019s Office said that \u201ca northbound passenger car traveled left of center and collided head on with a southbound sports utility vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll three occupants in the southbound vehicle died as a result of their injuries: Jackie Walorski, 58, Elkhart, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-indiana\">Indiana<\/a>; Zachery Potts, 27, Mishawaka, Indiana; Emma Thomson, 28, Washington, DC.\u201d The occupant of the other vehicle, identified as 56-year-old\u00a0Edith Schmucker, was also pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The Elkhart County Coroner\u2019s Office and the Elkhart County Sheriff\u2019s Office are currently involved in an investigation.<\/p>\n<p> Response <\/p>\n<p>House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPLeader\/status\/1554919317845807105\">issued<\/a> a statement after her death, saying that Walorski\u2019s husband, Dean, \u201cwas just informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff\u2019s office that Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He called on people to \u201cplease keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust seeing the awful news about Rep. Jackie Walorski. Heartbreaking. I\u2019ll be praying for her family after this awful and shocking tragedy. May God surround and comfort them all,\u201d wrote Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/laurenboebert\/status\/1554918537982087171\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart is heavy, and i don\u2019t have the words. But all I can say is prayers for her family. She was a good and honorable public servant. Rep.
