In June, the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Medicaid is not supposed to pay for abortions themselves because of the Hyde Amendment. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/09\/joe-biden-mini-revolution-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0Biden Warns Of A \u2018Mini Revolution\u2019 If SCOTUS Overturns Roe)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On July 8, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/08\/joe-biden-executive-order-abortion-reproductive-health-contraception\/\">signed<\/a> his first executive order aimed at \u201cprotecting access to reproductive health.\u201d That order was designed to build \u201con the actions his Administration has already taken\u00a0to defend reproductive rights,\u201d according to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>While Wednesday\u2019s action represents a stronger push from the Biden administration, the president has not yet declared a public health emergency. Some members of his party have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/11\/abortion-activists-biden-white-house-out-of-step\/\">pushed<\/a> for him to do so, and the president <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/11\/biden-public-health-emergency-abortion\/\">said<\/a> in July that it was being weighed as an option.<\/p>\n<p>The latest order, called the \u201cExecutive Order on Securing Access to Reproductive and Other Healthcare Services,\u201d also directs Becerra \u201cto evaluate and improve research, data collection, and data analysis \u2026 on maternal health and other health outcomes,\u201d according to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Biden plans to sign the order at the White House\u2019s first interagency Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access meeting.
