Peter Meijer, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/03\/peter-meijer-loses-primary-challenge-john-gibbs-trump-impeachment-michigan-3rd-district\/\">who voted<\/a> to impeach Trump in 2020. Gibbs previously worked under Trump as the acting assistant secretary in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and backs the former president\u2019s unfounded claims that the election was stolen.<\/p>\n<p>Meijer is the second House Republican who voted for Trump\u2019s impeachment to lose a primary, with the first coming in June after Trump-endorsed state Rep. Russell Fry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/06\/15\/primary-election-takeaways-rice-mace-00039735\">beat out<\/a> South Carolina Rep. REUTERS\/Rebecca Noble\/File Photo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Attorney General <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/24\/missouri-attorney-general-trigger-law-statewide-abortion-ban-roe-wade\/\">Eric Schmitt<\/a> also won Tuesday evening in Missouri <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2022-election\/eric-schmitt-wins-gop-primary-senate-missouri-defeating-former-gov-gre-rcna40974\">for the<\/a> GOP Senate primary. Trump\u2019s \u201cendorsement\u201d in this race was chaotic, with the former president issuing a statement roughly 24 hours before the primary that endorsed \u201cERIC\u201d \u2013 the name of Tuesday\u2019s winner but also the name of his opponent, Eric Greitens, who has been <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/26\/eric-greitens-missouri-republican-primary-poll\/\">riddled<\/a> with scandals in recent years. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/05\/29\/eric-greitens-resign\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0Missouri Governor Resigns Amid Sexual Misconduct Scandal)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Arizona, Republican Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/08\/03\/arizona-primary-trump-jan-6-paul-gosar\">Paul Gosar<\/a> snagged a Trump endorsement and won Tuesday\u2019s primary, though his race was considered fairly safe ground.<\/p>\n<p>While the former president saw success in Tuesday\u2019s primary, some of his picks are still battling it out as of early Wednesday morning. Trump-endorsed Arizona Rep. David Schweikert is projected to win his race, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DecisionDeskHQ\/status\/1554718380480946176?s=20&#038;t=lLteWy-VTFVJxuMnZEuttw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Decision Desk, but former TV news anchor Kari Lake\u2019s race remains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/arizona-republican-gubernatorial-primary-too-close-call-lake-taylor-robson\">too close<\/a> to call.<\/p>\n<p>Lake is running against Karrin Taylor Robson, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/01\/poll-republican-arizona-robson-lake\/\">endorsed<\/a> by former Vice President Mike Pence.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Trump\u2019s picks do not appear infallible. Washington state Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse \u2013 two more Republican lawmakers who voted to impeach the former president \u2013 so far appear to be ahead in their primaries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/seattle\/2022\/08\/03\/election-herrera-beutler-gop-trump-primary\">against<\/a> Trump-backed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/seattle\/2022\/08\/03\/newhouse-washington-election-4th-congressional-district\">challengers<\/a>, though the races have not yet been called. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/01\/trump-endorses-joe-kent-over-jamie-herrera-beutler\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0Trump Endorses Joe Kent For Congress Over Republican Incumbent Jamie Herrera Beutler)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Overall, Trump has endorsed over 200 candidates across the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/08\/02\/us\/politics\/trump-endorsements-midterm-primary-election.html\">according<\/a> to The New York Times.
