The U.S. Attorney\u2019s office claimed she had committed hundreds of thousands of dollars in Medicaid fraud, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Steiner\u2019s illegal actions in her first case cost the CMP over $500,000, the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ct\/pr\/woman-awaiting-sentencing-health-care-fraud-case-again-charged-committing-health-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>. She was out on bond when authorities arrested her this May on new, similar charges. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/02\/louisiana-dem-karen-carter-peterson-pleads-guilty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Louisiana Dem Pleads Guilty To Wire Fraud After Fueling Gambling Addiction With Campaign Cash)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steiner ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ct\/pr\/woman-admits-committing-health-care-fraud-while-awaiting-sentencing-another-health-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pleaded guilty<\/a> on July 29 to billing the CMP for thousands of dollars for services that were not provided as silent partner for a second company aiding autistic children, New Beginnings Children\u2019s Behavioral Health. She purportedly committed those offenses after first her guilty plea.<\/p>\n<p>Stein\u2019s new case could land her 20 years in prison, U.S. Attorney\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ct\/pr\/woman-admits-committing-health-care-fraud-while-awaiting-sentencing-another-health-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says<\/a>. She has been placed under electronic-monitored house arrest after securing a $250,000 bond ahead of her Oct. 21 sentencing date.
