Denver Police reported that they are investigating the incident as an accidental death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn adult female guest at Empower Field at Mile High was sitting on an escalator railing, fell to the concourse below, and died as a result of the injuries,\u201d the Denver Police Department wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DenverPolice\/status\/1553786147221819393\">statement<\/a> on Twitter Sunday. \u201cThis is being investigated as an accidental death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kdvr.com\/news\/local\/dpd-launch-outside-death-investigation-at-empower-fields-address\/\">Fox 31 Denver<\/a> added that the Denver coroner\u2019s office would determine the official cause of death, and release the identity of the woman when its examination was complete.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2022\/07\/31\/woman-dies-kenny-chesney-concert-denver-empower\/\">Denver Post<\/a>, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday night at the end of Chesney\u2019s performance. Eyewitnesses said that the woman was sitting on the railing of an escalator when she fell off it to the concourse below. The woman died from her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Denver Police spokesman Nate Magee told the paper he did not know\u00a0if alcohol was a factor in the fall, but the woman was not pushed or shoved before she fell. \u201cTo my understanding there was none of that, it was just an accidental fall, I don\u2019t think anyone pushed her or anything like that,\u201d Magee told the Post, citing eyewitnesses. Magee said he did not know how far she fell, or whether she was taken to a hospital or pronounced dead at the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement Sunday, the \u201cShe Thinks My Tractor\u2019s Sexy\u201d and \u201cThe Boys of Fall\u201d singer spoke out on the accident, expressing his condolences to the woman\u2019s loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show,\u201d Chesney said, via the Denver Post. \u201cThere had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night \u2014 and to hear this is heartbreaking. Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more. For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family\u2019s loss, I grieve with them and for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Empower Field also issued a statement expressing condolences. \u201cWe extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident that occurred at the end of Saturday\u2019s concert at Empower Field at Mile High,\u201d the stadium shared via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmpowerField\/status\/1553791841731878913?s=20&#038;t=4tfisXpaZj-gXBeHKiNNLg\">Twitter<\/a> Sunday. \u201cThere is nothing more important than the safety of our guests, and Stadium Management Company is in communication with the Denver Police Department as it investigates this unfortunate situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chesney\u2019s Denver concert was part of his cross-country \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kennychesney.com\/\">Here And Now 2022 Stadium Tour<\/a>.\u201d Chesney, 54, has eight more stops on the tour, closing with two performances at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>Empower Field at Mile High is the home stadium of the Denver Broncos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Country music superstar Kenny Chesney spoke out this week after a woman tragically fell to her death while attending one of his concerts.
