The U.S. recently announced an additional $270 million security package that included High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and Phoenix Ghost drones, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/white-house-announces-270m-military-package-for-ukraine\/2022\/07\/22\/c1660d08-09e8-11ed-80b6-43f2bfcc6662_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Washington Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A video shared on Facebook more than 36,000 times claims the U.S. and NATO also sent hundreds of fighter jets to Ukraine. \u201cFinally!!! US and NATO Sends Hundreds of F-16, A-10 Warthog, And F-15 Fighter Jets to Ukraine,\u201d reads the eight-minute video\u2019s caption and title. The video is a montage of clips showing military aircraft and features a narrator reading a July 21 Military.com piece titled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/daily-news\/2022\/07\/21\/air-force-open-sending-10s-ukraine-fight-against-russia.html#:~:text=Day%20Restaurant%20Discounts-,Air%20Force%20Open%20to%20Sending%20A%2D10s,Ukraine%20for%20Fight%20Against%20Russia&#038;text=Air%20Force%20Secretary%20Frank%20Kendall,that%20country%20repel%20Russian%20forces.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Air Force Open to Sending A-10s to Ukraine for Fight Against Russia<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video\u2019s caption and title are false. There is no evidence that either NATO or the U.S. have sent fighter jets to the Ukrainians. The Ukrainian government has requested fighter jets from its allies, but there is no indication any Western country has signed a deal or is planning to do so, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/ukraine-war-f16-vladimir-putin-exhausted-russia-petro-poroshenko-1729559\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newsweek<\/a>. Check Your Fact found no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Ukraine+NATO+send+hundreds+of+jets+to+Ukraine&#038;rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS820US820&#038;oq=Ukraine+NATO+send+hundreds+of+jets+to+Ukraine&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57j0i546.9445j0j7&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">credible news reporting<\/a> about either the U.S. or NATO sending Ukraine hundreds of jets.<\/p>\n<p>Oryx, an open-source defense analyst website that tracks artillery supplements to various conflicts, does not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oryxspioenkop.com\/2022\/04\/answering-call-heavy-weaponry-supplied.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">list<\/a> any fighter aircraft being sent to Ukraine from the U.S. or any other NATO country. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/07\/27\/fact-check-ukraine-crimea-missile-strikes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Ukraine Hit Crimea With HIMARs Missile Strikes?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While there is no evidence that the U.S. or NATO has sent fighter jets yet, U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen.
