Though I will admit I\u2019ve been curious about kissing and why Audj and Zae-Brii enjoy it so much. So if you\u2019re ever curious, too, let me know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exchange continues,\u00a0\u201cObi-Wan blushed. \u2018I will. Let you know, I mean. Not that I will do that, right now, with you. Or anyone.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWould he ever get to a point where kissing someone felt like anything less than a betrayal of himself and the Jedi? And if he did get to that point, who would he want to kiss? The Lenahrans were confident and charismatic, which was attractive,\u201d the passage reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut he couldn\u2019t imagine just \u2026 kissing any of them. Maybe he didn\u2019t want to be with any of them but rather to be more like each of them. Or maybe he wanted to kiss all of them,\u201d the excerpt continues.<\/p>\n<p>Other \u201cqueer kids\u201d in Kenobi\u2019s story, according to the Twitter account Star Wars Queers Watch, include lesbian character Audj, a non-binary shapeshifter named Zae-Brii, potentially bisexual Casul, and non-sexual female Mem.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Among the queer kids Obi meets:<br \/>\u2013 their leader, Audj<br \/>\u2013 her nonbinary shapeshifting partner, Zae-Brii<br \/>\u2013 Audj&#8217; brother Casul, who&#8217;s down to experiment with Obi<br \/>\u2013 and Mem, a girl who&#8217;s not down for romance or attraction at all<\/p>\n<p>Queerness in this book feels very casual and I love it.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Star Wars Queers Watch (@QueerSWatch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QueerSWatch\/status\/1550518076185387008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The novel, released July 26, is published by Disney Lucasfilm Press. The description of the book does not directly mention the discussion of Kenobi\u2019s sexuality. It instead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Star-Wars-Padawan-Kiersten-White\/dp\/1368023495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s the star of the\u00a0Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ limited series as you\u2019ve never seen him before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The longer description also reaches beyond traditional adventures of Jedi battles and delves into deeper issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn a mysterious planet he encounters a pack of feral, Force-wielding teens who seem to be the planet\u2019s only inhabitants. As he experiences wild freedom with them and wonders if this isn\u2019t the life he was meant for, Obi-Wan can\u2019t escape the nagging sense that something is wrong with the Force there. Romantic complications, startling revelations\u2026\u201d it describes.<\/p>\n<p>Kenobi previously had a romantic connection with a female character set in the \u201cClone Wars\u201d series developed by Dave Filoni.
