The results come after the court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/21pdf\/19-1392_6j37.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">overturned<\/a> Roe v. Wade, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/21pdf\/20-1530_n758.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">limited<\/a> the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s authority to regulate power plants, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/07\/08\/blue-states-test-limits-of-gun-laws-after-supreme-court-raises-the-bar-00044486\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">invalidated<\/a> New York concealed carry laws.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court saw its overall approval rating sink from 43% to 40% since the same poll last year, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/395387\/democrats-approval-supreme-court-record-low.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a>. Republicans showed 74% support for the nation\u2019s highest court, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/395387\/democrats-approval-supreme-court-record-low.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly<\/a>\u00a0falling short of their historic record.<\/p>\n<p>Supreme Court satisfaction among independents registered at 40%, roughly in between partisan totals. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/01\/richard-blumenthal-scotus-contraception\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Sen. Republicans strongly opposed this idea at the same rate.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, 33% of Democrats strongly supported democratically electing justices, while one-fifth said they would somewhat support that change, according to the Rasmussen-Heartland survey.<\/p>\n<p>Over two-thirds of Democrats at least somewhat agreed that the Supreme Court is a \u201cfundamentally sexist institution that favors men over women,\u201d while more than half expressed some belief that it is \u201cfundamentally racist.\u201d Less than 45% of all respondents somewhat or strongly agreed with either assertion.<\/p>\n<p>Gallup <a href=\"https:\/\/users\/trevorschakohl\/Downloads\/20220802SupremeCourt.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">surveyed<\/a> more than 1,000 adults over the phone from July 5 to 26 and used 4% margin of error.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
