Most notably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/china-state-media-threatens-to-shoot-down-pelosis-plane-to-taiwan_4631189.html\">urging<\/a> the Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-military\">military<\/a> to shoot down Pelosi\u2019s plane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf U.S. fighter jets escort Pelosi\u2019s plane into Taiwan, it is invasion,\u201d said Xijin Hu, former editor of China\u2019s state-owned Global Times, in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PLA [China\u2019s military] has the right to forcibly dispel Pelosi\u2019s plane and the U.S. fighter jets, including firing warning shots and making tactical movement of obstruction. If ineffective, then shoot them down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The threats follow a trajectory of escalating rhetoric emanating from Beijing in recent months, as the CCP attempts to strong arm changes in U.S. policy without meaningful diplomatic engagement.
