It was not done at the direction or approval of the Senator or his team. We are working to correct this immediately,\u201d a spokesperson for HarperCollins Christian Publishing, told The Epoch Times in an email.<\/p>\n<p>The line in question says:\u00a0\u201cSenator Scott is a rising star who sees and understands the importance of bipartisanship to move America forward. This book is a political memoir that includes his core messages as he prepares to make a presidential bid in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Scott declined to comment beyond the publisher\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>Scott <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/politics\/tim-scotts-new-book-says-hes-preparing-a-presidential-bid-he-says-absolutely-not\/article_7ef62940-0f4b-11ed-bfe4-ff6d240dcc1c.html\">told The Post and Courier<\/a> on July 29 that he was \u201cabsolutely not\u201d launching a presidential bid.\u00a0\u201cNot for me it\u2019s not,\u201d he also said.<\/p>\n<p>Scott, 56, became a U.S. senator in 2013. He won the 2016 race with 60 percent of the vote. He is running for reelection this year, facing off against Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-south-carolina\">South Carolina<\/a> Rep.\u00a0Krystle Matthews.<\/p>\n<p>According to Scott\u2019s financial disclosure report for 2021, he was paid $184,167 in advance royalties by Harper Collins for the book, which is titled\u00a0\u201cAmerica, a Redemption Story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBestselling author Senator Tim Scott shares a renewed vision for the United States\u2013and invites all Americans to find themselves within this nation\u2019s redemptive story of opportunity, unity, and hope,\u201d according to a description on the Thomas Nelson website.<\/p>\n<p>The release date for the book is Aug. 9.<\/p>\n<p> Floated as Potential Running Mate <\/p>\n<p>Scott has been mentioned as a potential running mate for former President Donald Trump should Trump run for a third time in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Scott, called \u201cthe future\u201d of the GOP by<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A line in the new book from Sen.
