Tested positive this morning. Going to be working from home for the next couple of days. And I\u2019m feeling fine, everything\u2019s good. But Commander and I got a little work to do,\u201d Biden,\u00a079, said in the video posted to Twitter late on July 30. He was referring to his dog, Commander.<\/p>\n<p>White House physician Dr. Kevin O\u2019Connor said\u00a0in a letter on July 30,\u00a0in confirming Biden\u2019s diagnosis, that people who take Paxlovid can test positive for the virus after testing negative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs described last week, acknowledging the potential for so-called \u2018rebound\u2019 COVID positivity observed in a small percentage of patients treated with Paxlovid, the President increased his testing cadence, both to protect people around him and to assure early detection of any return of viral replication,\u201d O\u2019Connor said. Now,\u00a0Biden will engage in \u201cstrict isolation procedures,\u201d O\u2019Connor said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden tested positive again for COVID-19 on July 30 after using an antigen test, the letter said. It comes days after he tested negative and delivered a speech at the White House.<\/p>\n<p> Questions <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a prominent cardiologist and professor of medicine at George Washington University Hospital, wrote that he believes that \u201cCOVID rebound\u201d cases sparked by taking Paxlovid are quite common.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prior data suggesting \u2018rebound\u2019 Paxlovid positivity in the low single digits is outdate[d] and with BA.5 is likely 20-40 percent or even higher,\u201d Reiner\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JReinerMD\/status\/1553456040389246977\">wrote on Twitter<\/a> in response to Biden\u2019s second positive test.
