She is reported to have planned meetings with Taiwanese officials and others on Tuesday evening and Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She\u2019s definitely coming,&#8221; a person familiar with the situation told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/nancy-pelosi-begins-asian-tour-in-singapore-as-china-again-warns-against-visiting-taiwan-11659358264?mod=djemalertNEWS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wall Street Journal.<\/a> &#8220;The only variable is whether she spends the night in Taipei.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi would be the first House Speaker to visit Taiwan since Newt Gingrich in 1997. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/world\/world-regions\/china\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China has issued stern warnings<\/a> against such a visit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/son-taiwanese-immigrants-pelosi-follow-visit-important-signal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SON OF TAIWANESE IMMIGRANTS SAYS PELOSI MUST FOLLOW THROUGH ON VISIT: \u2018A VERY IMPORTANT SIGNAL\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;China will take resolute and strong measures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. As for what measures exactly we will take, let&#8217;s wait and see if she dares making the visit,&#8221; as spokesperson for China\u2019s Foreign Ministry said about the possibility of Pelosi going to Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese media personality Hu Xijin responded to the news with a warning of what could follow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Let her go to Taiwan. But pray before departure: wish herself a safe journey and wish herself not be defined by history as a sinner who starts a spiral of escalation process expanding military frictions to a large-scale war in the Taiwan Strait,&#8221; the\u00a0former Global Times chief editor said.<\/p>\n<p>Hu Xijin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/chinese-state-media-suggests-shooting-down-pelosi-plane-taiwan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously suggested<\/a> that China shoot down Pelosi&#8217;s plane if she goes to Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Pelosi\u2019s departure for Asia, the Pentagon moved the USS Ronald Reagan and a strike group from Singapore to the South China Sea, although the aircraft carrier had been there prior to its short stay in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi began her trip with a stop in Singapore, tweeting photos from her stop there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The House Speaker has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/nancy-pelosis-asia-visit-itinerary-leaves-out-mention-possible-stop-taiwan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also made plans<\/a> to visit Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi is traveling with a House delegation that includes Democratic Reps.
