It may be possible, in one or two cases, that it has to be done, but the way they\u2019ve been used is totally inappropriate\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese were kids who said I\u2019m a girl or I\u2019m a boy and they were affirmed. They took the drugs and they went to opposite sex hormones and they had parts of their body removed, their breasts, their vaginas. Now, as one girl put it to me, \u2018I don\u2019t have the body of a man, I\u2019ve got the body of a mutilated woman and that\u2019s what I have to live with\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the\u00a0Tavistock\u00a0and Portman NHS Foundation Trust was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2020\/03\/03\/woman-rushed-into-gender-reassignment-teen-suing-nhs\/\">sued<\/a> by Keira Bell, who accused the\u00a0Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) of pressuring her into medically changing her gender as a 16-year-old, a decision which as an adult she grew to regret.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Initially, the\u00a0High Court ruled in her favour, saying that children under the age of 16 should not be prescribed puberty blockers without court authorisation \u2014 yet, the decision was later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/18\/english-court-appeal-rules-doctors-can-put-children-trans-drugs\/\">overturned<\/a> in September of last year.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Not Safe: UK Health Service Shuts Down Tavistock, Infamous for Child Trans Treatments<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/05KfI4qVEH\">https:\/\/t.co\/05KfI4qVEH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1552957115446177792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 29, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now that the Tavistock Centre has been ordered to close over safety concerns after serving as the only clinic in England to treat allegedly transgender children, there will be growing pressure on the candidates attempting to succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister \u2014 former Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Truss \u2014 to solidify the laws surrounding children and transgender drugs, with both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/07\/30\/doomed-uk-trans-kids-clinic-left-thousands-of-damaged-children-in-its-wake\/\">signalling<\/a> they may ban puberty blockers outright for children.<\/p>\n<p>An earlier whistleblower,\u00a0clinical nurse\u00a0Susan Evans, had claimed that the proliferation of such treatments at the Tavistock was due to political motivations, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/18\/english-court-appeal-rules-doctors-can-put-children-trans-drugs\/\">saying<\/a>: \u201cThe treatment pathway of children with gender dysphoria [was] bec[oming] ever more politicised, and mov[ing] away from high standards of clinical mental healthcare with good assessment and psychotherapeutic treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hilary Cass, who is leading a review of Tavistock\u2019s Gender Identity Development Service, previously found that\u00a0doctors have felt pressured into adopting an unquestioning approach to children seeking gender reassignment.\u00a0She said that medics felt \u201cnervous\u201d about offering puberty-blocking therapies for children who could benefit from other treatment or merely waiting, but were shut down by the political climate.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cass.independent-review.uk\/publications\/interim-report\/\">Cass review<\/a>, family support groups such as Bayswater are calling for the public review pledged by former health secretary Sajid Javid to continue into Tavistock, and to be expanded into the education and charity sectors, both of which have been active in the promotion of transgenderism in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>The group also called for the review to not only focus on children but on the 18-25 demographic range as well, explaining: \u201cThe adolescent brain does not complete its development until age 25, which could explain why so many who de-transition do so in their mid-20s.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doomed UK Trans Kids Clinic Left &#8216;Thousands of Damaged Children&#8217;
