Like the impeachment,\u201d he continued. \u201cAgain, not that the issues that were involved in impeachment don\u2019t matter, but you knew you were never gonna have the outcome. The argument was \u2018Well, but this is what we have to do. This is our job.\u2019 I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t know that that kind of fermenting of tension, that kind of protracted process, when you know you weren\u2019t gonna remove the president, was that really in America\u2019s interest, certainly debatable, certainly debatable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo suggested that the entire investigation could end up just like the investigation into alleged Russian collusion, which turned out to be a dud for Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe outcome was never going to be what was desired,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s no question, as with the Mueller probe, Trump and his cronies were doing bad things. Things they know they should not have been doing. And arguably that makes them lousy leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut getting Trump for treason, why even go there? They go there because it fuels the fringe aspects of the party,\u201d he continued. \u201cCollusion with Russian operatives. Yes. Collusion is behavior. It\u2019s not a crime. The crime is conspiracy and it\u2019s a distinction with a difference and they were nowhere near it. And it wasn\u2019t ever gonna be prosecuted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo\u2019s new podcast comes as he also is getting a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/disgraced-host-chris-cuomo-announces-his-new-news-job-im-going-to-try-very-hard-to-be-fair\">primetime<\/a> television show this fall on NewsNation, which aims to be politically neutral.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview late last week with Bill Maher on HBO\u2019s \u201cReal Time with Bill Maher,\u201d Cuomo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ex-cnn-host-chris-cuomo-blames-viewers-for-the-state-of-cable-news-declares-cnn-not-opinion\">blamed<\/a> cable news watchers for the state of cable news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t expect the men and women in the media to not play a game that everybody else is playing,\u201d Cuomo said.\u00a0\u201cYou are watching because the game, you are allowing yourself to be put on teams or in tribes or any way you want to designate it,\u201d Cuomo added. \u201cBut they\u2019re supposed to somehow break away from that when it\u2019s what you want? When it\u2019s what resonates with you?
