With that experience, the story went, Biden and his staff would guide the country through the end of the pandemic, economic hardship, challenging problems abroad and transformative energy policy the political left has always envisioned.<\/p>\n<p>The reality, just two years later, is a series of stumbles, failures, and losses in Washington have led to polls like 75 percent of likely Dem voters in New Hampshire wishing for Biden to step aside in 2024. Biden, despite the experience, is struggling to live up to the rosy predictions as Americans face rising inflation, a looming recession and national division.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Trust<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Biden was sold as the \u201csteady hand on the wheel\u201d by The New York Times editorial board in its generous October 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/10\/06\/opinion\/joe-biden-2020-nytimes-endorsement.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">endorsement<\/a>. The board promised that \u201ca President Biden would embrace the rule of law and restore public confidence in democratic institutions\u201d and that \u201chis focus would be on healing divisions and rallying a nation around shared values.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reality under Biden is a stark contrast. Confidence in \u201cdemocratic institutions,\u201d like the U.S. public school system, and the level of patriotism among U.S. adults, is bottoming out, a recent Gallup survey <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/394202\/record-low-extremely-proud-american.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">showed.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Only 28% of Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/15\/poll-americans-confidence-public-schools-all-time-low\/\">said<\/a> they had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in public schools, marking the second lowest confidence score U.S. public schools have received in the poll\u2019s history, Gallup reported.<\/p>\n<p>Before 2015, typically, at least 55% of adults in the U.S. would say they are extremely proud to be an American. About 80% usually said they were extremely or very proud, according to Gallup.<\/p>\n<p>In the Biden years, that number went down significantly, with 38% of U.S. adults <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/30\/american-pride-record-low\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">saying<\/a> they are extremely proud and 65% saying they are extremely or very proud to be an American, Gallup reported. financial crisis under former President Barack Obama as crucial to his ability to steer the economy through any incoming pandemic-related hardships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs vice president in the Obama administration, Biden played a central role in the last economic recovery and is equipped to handle another one,\u201d the USA Today editorial board <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/in-depth\/opinion\/todaysdebate\/2020\/10\/20\/elect-joe-biden-reject-donald-trump-editorials-debates\/5919435002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post board argued Biden would draw from his \u201cwell of experience\u201d handling economic hardship as Obama\u2019s vice president to help the U.S. economy recover from the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he takes the oath in the midst of the pandemic\u2019s second wave, as is quite possible, with the economy in a tailspin, we can be confident Mr. Biden will rise to the occasion,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/09\/28\/editorial-board-endorsement-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> The Washington Post editorial board.<\/p>\n<p>Just about three years later, U.S. business owners \u201cbelieve the Biden Administration is failing to address inflation and supply chain disruption,\u201d according to a recent Job Creators Network (JCN) <a href=\"https:\/\/monthlypolling.jcnf.org\/app\/uploads\/2022\/07\/JCN-Monthly-Monitor-JUNE-PPT-06-30-22-Master.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">survey.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As U.S. inflation hit a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/13\/inflation-americans-cpi-squeeze-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">historic 9.1%<\/a> in June, the JCN survey showed that despite promises Biden would \u201crise to the occasion,\u201d U.S. business owners have reported signs the economy was already in a recession, like a decline in demand for goods and services, lower profits and planned job cuts.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">President Biden and the Fed\u2019s inflation denial worsened inflation and pushed the economy into a recession.<\/p>\n<p>American families and workers are finding out that Biden\u2019s economy is a cruel economy. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ynJB0SP3Yr\">pic.twitter.com\/ynJB0SP3Yr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ways and Means GOP (@WaysandMeansGOP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WaysandMeansGOP\/status\/1549121932116873220?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 18, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Timirie Shibley, owner of the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/15\/business-owners-already-seeing-recession\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> the Daily Caller News Foundation\u00a0in July that everything about operating her business has gone up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe price we pay for a case of eggs (15 dozen), for example, has gone from $17 to $61, and for a restaurant that goes through 6500 eggs a week, that\u2019s not at all insignificant,\u201d Shibley told the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The publications, which cast Trump as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/11\/05\/opinion\/beyond-lying-donald-trumps-authoritarian-reality.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">boon<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2020\/10\/12\/trump-voter-authoritarian-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">for<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/12\/16\/opinion\/sunday\/is-donald-trump-a-threat-to-democracy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">authoritarianism<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/monkey-cage\/wp\/2016\/03\/11\/its-not-just-trump-authoritarian-populism-is-rising-across-the-west-heres-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">abroad<\/a>,\u00a0advertised a future Biden presidency where the U.S. would garner respect globally and prevent authoritarian leadership from taking power internationally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Biden] would stand with America\u2019s allies and against adversaries that seek to undermine our democracy,\u201d The New York Times wrote. \u201cHe would not court foreign autocrats or give comfort to white supremacists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times editorial board argued Biden\u2019s \u201cunusually rich grasp of and experience in foreign policy\u201d gave him the \u201cnecessary chops\u201d to handle international relations. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/19\/biden-poised-declare-climate-emergency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0Biden Poised To Declare Climate Emergency To Ram Through Green Agenda: REPORT)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, The Washington Post\u2019s board said Biden\u2019s \u201csober view of American power\u201d showed the fundamental differences between Biden and Trump\u2019s levels of foreign relations experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn foreign policy, Mr. Biden offers an enormously positive change from the Trump administration, simply by promising to rebuild long-standing U.S. alliances and the global leadership that Mr. Trump has willfully disrupted,\u201d wrote The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>Biden would \u201cunite democracies in \u2018fighting corruption, defending against authoritarianism and advancing human rights.\u2019 He would rebuild relations with NATO countries and help them stiffen defenses against Russia,\u201d the board wrote. \u201cHe would end Mr. Trump\u2019s appeasement of Russian President Vladimir Putin and coddling of Arab dictatorships such as Saudi Arabia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, early into Biden\u2019s presidency, his foreign policy experience was tested when he finalized the U.S. military <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/03\/u-s-government-left-as-many-as-9000-american-citizens-in-afghanistan-after-withdrawal-senate-report-reveals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">withdrawal<\/a> from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/18\/declassified-watchdog-report-joe-biden-warned-afghanistan-air-force-collapse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chaotic withdrawal<\/a> garnered international condemnation after videos of desperate Afghan people <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/17\/afghan-man-hanging-from-plane-kabul-afghanistan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">falling<\/a> from U.S. military planes went viral. (Photo by SAUL LOEB \/ AFP) (Photo by SAUL LOEB\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian and Russian geopolitical influence has expanded.<\/p>\n<p>Despite sanctions and other threats, Russia has unabashedly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/14\/russian-energy-exports-revenue-western-sanctions-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ignored<\/a> Biden\u2019s calls to stop its invasion and subsequent war in Ukraine. The Russian government also arrested and jailed American basketball player Brittney Griner for possessing marijuana and warned against Biden attempting to pressure them into releasing her. The administration now is even <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/27\/white-house-trade-viktor-bout-merchant-of-death-brittney-griner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">considering the trade of Russia\u2019s \u201cMerchant of Death\u201d<\/a> to secure release of the imprisoned WNBA player.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/21\/energy-crisis-joe-biden-vulnerable-americans-education-gas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. energy crisis<\/a>, created in part by Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/15\/oil-gas-ceos-shafted-biden-ignore-calls-help-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">green energy policies<\/a>, his recent trip to the Middle East <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/18\/biden-embarrass-saudi-arabia-clean-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">included<\/a> a stop to beg Saudi Arabia to increase oil production, which failed.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman committing to produce more oil, he criticized Biden\u2019s domestic green energy policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdopting unrealistic policies to reduce emissions by excluding main sources of energy will lead in coming years to unprecedented inflation and an increase in energy prices, and rising unemployment and a worsening of serious social and security problems,\u201d Prince Mohammad said.<\/p>\n<p>With the U.S.\u2019s major adversary, China, The Washington Post said that Biden would stand up against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).<\/p>\n<p>Biden \u201cwould better position the United States as a capitalist competitor to China;\u201d \u201che would work with allies to confront China\u2019s abusive behaviors,\u201d and \u201che would stand up for this country\u2019s belief in freedom and openness against the Chinese brand of surveillance authoritarianism,\u201d wrote The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>The CCP has not been deterred by the threat of Biden\u2019s foreign policy experience. Instead, the CCP took over Hong Kong, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/30\/china-hong-kong-antony-blinken-mike-pompeo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">annexing<\/a> it back under the control of mainland China. Under Biden, the Chinese military has also <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/18\/report-ahead-of-call-with-biden-chinese-aircraft-carrier-crosses-the-taiwan-strait\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">increased<\/a> provocations with the U.S. and Taiwanese militaries across the Taiwan Strait and continues its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/04\/senate-intelligence-china-national-security-intellectual-property-rubio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cyberattacks<\/a> against Americans, the U.S. government and U.S. corporations.<\/p>\n<p>While millions of Americans were suffering under record high gas prices, Biden went around U.S. refiners to sell more than five million barrels of oil released from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to European and Asian countries, including China.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Texas Rep. (Photo by MANDEL NGAN \/ AFP) (Photo by MANDEL NGAN\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After China <a href=\"https:\/\/www.memri.org\/tv\/chinese-defense-minister-wei-fenghe-fight-to-the-end-taiwan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">threatened<\/a> to take over Taiwan in a similar fashion to Hong Kong, the CCP said it would respond with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/19\/china-forceful-response-pelosi-taiwan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">forceful measures<\/a>\u201d if Democratic Speaker of the U.S. House Nancy Pelosi continued her planned August visit to the democratic and independent island country.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, who previously <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/25\/china-issues-direct-warning-us-announces-military-drills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vowed<\/a> to defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion, buckled to the CCP\u2019s threats <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/20\/military-pelosi-trip-taiwan-not-good-idea-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">telling<\/a> reporters that the U.S. military said it was \u201cnot a good idea\u201d for Pelosi to continue her planned trip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Administration Lacking Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several outlets attempted to reassure readers that Biden\u2019s ability to choose a competent administration would fill any gaps in Biden\u2019s own experience.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times editorial board\u00a0promised Biden would \u201cstock his administration with competent, qualified, principled individuals.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/13\/joe-biden-inflation-cpi-spending\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Out-Of-Date\u2019: Biden Responds To Record High Inflation Numbers)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>USA Today said that \u201cwith his plans, his personnel picks, his experience and his humanity, Joe Biden can help lead the United States out of this morass and into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Houston Chronicle editorial board <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/opinion\/editorials\/article\/endorsement-Joe-Biden-president-us-election-2020-15636598.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">argued<\/a> that \u201cas evident by his V.P. pick of Sen. Kamala Harris,\u201d Biden would fill his administration with \u201cqualified, effective people from diverse backgrounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite promises of a \u201cqualified\u201d administration, 62% of Biden\u2019s appointees that \u201cdeal with economic policy, regulation, commerce, energy and finance\u201d have \u201cvirtually no business experience,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/committeetounleashprosperity.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/220718_CTUP_NoExperienceNecessary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to a report from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/no-business-experience-needed-joe-biden-white-house-officials-committee-to-unleash-prosperity-report-11657661328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">President Trump had 45 years of experience in business.<\/p>\n<p>The average Biden Administration official has 2.4 years.<\/p>\n<p>Now you know why America is in this mess.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lance Gooden (@Lancegooden) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lancegooden\/status\/1548316805336219651?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 16, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The study found that while Trump\u2019s administration had an average of 13 years of private business experience, the average business experience of 68 top Democrats and appointees in the Biden administration who now make critical policy decisions affecting the economy is only 2.4 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s fair to wonder if the Biden policies and their results reflect a lack of even a basic understanding of how business works,\u201d the WSJ stated. \u201cPresidents are free to appoint whoever they wish, but the results of business ignorance in this Administration are speaking for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lack of experience among Biden\u2019s cabinet goes beyond the economy, according to WSJ.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo has spent <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/about\/general-information\/officials\/Wally-Adeyemo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nearly all<\/a> his career in politics and government,\u201d the WSJ wrote.\u00a0\u201cHealth and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/sanfrancisco\/news\/xavier-becerra-hhs-secretary-confirmation-hearing-preview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no experience<\/a> in healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTransportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was a mayor and management consultant with <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/12\/21\/pete-buttigieg-transportation-secretary-joe-biden-cabinet-kamala-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">little experience<\/a> in supply chains or America\u2019s vast transportation network,\u201d the outlet wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg wasn\u2019t eyeing the transportation position originally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2020\/12\/09\/pete-buttigieg-china-ambassador-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Axios. Buttigieg wanted to be Biden\u2019s ambassador to the United Nations, but Biden denied him.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Buttigieg was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Feb. 2, 2021, as\u00a0the head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportation.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Transportation<\/a>, which has a budget of $87 million and over 58,000 employees.<\/p>\n<p>His previous transportation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/12\/18\/tech\/mayor-pete-usdot\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">experience<\/a> consisted of being mayor of South Bend, Indiana,\u00a0with its small regional airport, small train station, and a bus station with a fleet of fewer than 50 buses.<\/p>\n<p>Less than eight months into Buttigieg\u2019s appointment, he was apparently AWOL during the supply-chain crisis when videos of U.S. ports, from New York to Los Angeles, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/supply-chain-issues-us-ports-backlog-holiday-shopping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">showed<\/a>\u00a0an overwhelming\u00a0250,000 containers\u00a0still waiting to be unloaded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ships wait off the California coast, unable to unload their cargo.<\/p>\n<p>Truckers are overworked and overwhelmed, often confronting logjams.<\/p>\n<p>Rail yards have also been clogged, with trains at one point backed up 25 miles outside a key Chicago facility. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9gTuUmZT1g\">https:\/\/t.co\/9gTuUmZT1g<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Xit0oPUPFs\">pic.twitter.com\/Xit0oPUPFs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/washingtonpost\/status\/1447252695870427139?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Department of Transportation had neglected to announce that Buttigieg took paid maternity leave starting in August, a department spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/west-wing-playbook\/2021\/10\/14\/can-pete-buttigieg-have-it-all-494710\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> Politico. Exasperated Politico reporters began their Playbook newsletter with the line \u201cPete Buttigieg has been MIA,\u201d acknowledging that the media in general hadn\u2019t even noticed Buttigieg\u2019s absence during the crisis until Playbook asked for a quote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the first four weeks, he was mostly offline except for major agency decisions and matters that could not be delegated,\u201d the spokesperson told the outlet. The department said that Buttigieg would \u201ccontinue to take some time over the coming weeks to support his husband and take care of his new children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The support included Buttigieg <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JobCreatorsUSA\/status\/1448677485277818884?s=20&#038;t=IjCCI2ZmzSlRztFMvtlZLQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">flying<\/a> to Chicago to attend the premiere of a documentary about himself, \u00a0a glowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/pete-buttigieg-dishes-on-his-future-as-a-presidential-candidate-2021-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">write-up<\/a> in Business Insider teasing a 2024 presidential run, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/nbc-out\/out-politics-and-policy\/buttigieg-parenthood-demanding-thing-ve-ever-done-rcna2729\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interviews<\/a> with NBC about parenthood being the\u00a0\u2018most demanding thing\u2019 he\u2019s ever done.<\/p>\n<p>And perhaps \u2014 as Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/05\/poll-biden-approval-numbers-creep-even-lower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">polling<\/a> hits previously unimaginable lows, rivaling even those of Trump \u2014 the once crucially absent Buttigieg actually is the Democrat Party\u2019s only hope.\u00a0Even now, the Biden administration seems to spend more energy bickering over the definition of \u201crecession\u201d than with actually solving the many issues facing America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018it\u2019s not a recession\u2019 discourse is so ANNOYING,\u201d Saagar Enjeti, host of the YouTube show Breaking Points and former Daily Caller White House correspondent, <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/esaagar\/status\/1552294886984015874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote on Twitter<\/a>, \u201cand peak econ brain.
