He had \u201cvery mild symptoms\u201d and was prescribed Paxlovid by White House Dr. Kevin O\u2019Connor.<\/p>\n<p>After testing negative for several days this week, Biden\u2019s latest positive test is known as a \u201crebound\u201d positive, O\u2019Connor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Update-7.30.pdf\">wrote<\/a> in a physician\u2019s note sent Saturday to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Biden\u2019s doctor says the president tested positive for COVID again (after testing negative for several days in a row): <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jXhM3uUMIV\">pic.twitter.com\/jXhM3uUMIV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shelby Talcott (@ShelbyTalcott) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShelbyTalcott\/status\/1553449245868449794?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs described last week, acknowledging the potential for so-called \u2018rebound\u2019 COVID positivity observed in a small percentage of patients treated with PAXLOVID, the President increased his testing cadence, both to protect people around him and to assure early detection of any return of viral replication,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the President tested positive late Saturday morning, by antigen testing,\u201d O\u2019Connor continued. \u201cThis in fact represents \u2018rebound\u2019 positivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden currently is experiencing no symptoms, according to the White House physician.
