This magic number might have something to do with the fact that Schumann resonances\u2014the waves that make up the earth\u2019s magnetic field\u2014resonate at a similar frequency.<\/li>\n<li>This explains why low frequency EMF therapies have had success in regulating health: acute Parkinson\u2019s has been reversed and sleep paralysis has been cured.<\/li>\n<li>But other frequencies\u00a0<em>cause<\/em> health problems, damaging human cells and even DNA, sometimes even resulting in cancers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a classic scene in Mary Shelley\u2019s \u201cFrankenstein\u201d where the main character, Victor von Frankenstein, reanimates his monster made of dead tissue with a shock of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>The book, of course, is fiction.<\/p>\n<p>But the idea that electricity can create life is becoming less far-fetched after a series of compelling experiments by famed French virologist and late Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier.<\/p>\n<p>These experiments seem to have demonstrated something incredible: that the electromagnetic forces that emanate from the earth could be responsible for facilitating the creation of new DNA.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what he did and why it was so unique, and what it could suggest about the impact of electromagnetic fields in medicine and life.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Can Bacteria DNA \u2018Teleport\u2019?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/230937823_DNA_waves_and_water\">Dr. Montagnier\u2019s study reports<\/a> that the research team first created two test tubes\u2014A and B. These tubes were set up beside each other, but with space between them so they were not touching. Tube A contained a fragment of DNA from Mycoplasma pirum, a type of bacterium. Tube B contained pure water.<\/p>\n<p>Both tubes were surrounded by a copper coil that emitted a very weak and extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field of 7 Hz. The tubes were also placed in a mu-metal box. Mu-metal absorbs low electromagnetic frequencies and acts as a barrier to them. By placing the tubes in the mu-metal box, the researchers could block external sources of electromagnetic fields and ensure that they did not interfere with the study.<\/p>\n<p>The tubes sat for 16 to 18 hours. After this time, the researchers used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genome.gov\/genetics-glossary\/Polymerase-Chain-Reaction\">polymerase chain reaction (PCR)<\/a> to amplify the trace DNA fragments so that they could be detected. At the end of the experiment, the team looked in both test tubes to determine whether they contain the original DNA fragments.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we would expect only Tube A to have the DNA fragments in it.<\/p>\n<p>But Montagnier\u2019s team also detected fragments of the same DNA in Tube B.<\/p>\n<p>What happened? How did they get there?<\/p>\n<p>One explanation made by Montagnier\u2019s team is that DNA emits low-frequency electromagnetic waves. Then, in the presence of the 7 Hz field, these waves can imprint the structure of that DNA onto the water. That structure is maintained and amplified through <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coherence_(physics)#Quantum_coherence\">quantum coherence<\/a> effects.<\/p>\n<p>Because that structure in the water is maintained, enzymes in the PCR process mistake it for actual DNA, and use it as a template to create new DNA.<\/p>\n<p>However, it seems to be more surprising to assume that enzymes and nucleotides could generate DNA based on imprinted DNA in water but not real DNA substance.<\/p>\n<p>Another explanation is that DNA was reproduced in the electromagnetic field, and there was a trace amount of DNA substance in Tube B before the PCR examination.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Montagnier repeated the test 12 times with identical results. Russian scientist Peter Gariaev, an expert in wave genetics, <a href=\"https:\/\/wavegenetics.org\/docs\/Publikacii_za_rubezhom.pdf\">repeated the experiment<\/a> and had similar results as well. Gariaev reported that the materialization of DNA fragments in pure water in the presence of its phantom was delivered by modulated wide-spectrum electromagnetic irradiation. These demonstrate that the effect is repeatable.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the result of his experiment may be a bit too hard to understand, scientists all over the world who have the right lab equipment could repeat this by themselves.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4630446\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/07\/29\/6DNA-lab-test-english-3-1.gif\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>2. What Are Electromagnetic Fields?<\/h2>\n<p>Note that there are some factors that suppressed the effect. If the exposure of the tubes was reduced to fewer than 16 hours, there would be no DNA detectable in test Tube B. And, if there was no DNA in Tube A to begin with, there wouldn\u2019t be DNA in Tube B either.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the experiment didn\u2019t work without the copper coil surrounding the two tubes, or with the coil but without the electromagnetic field being generated. It also didn\u2019t work with a frequency lower than 7 Hz. This all suggests that the electromagnetic field created by the generator and facilitated by the coil was essential to creating the effects.<\/p>\n<p>So what are electromagnetic fields?<\/p>\n<p>An electromagnetic field is an area of space that contains both magnetic and electric energy. The energy within the space is a form of radiation and can also be described in terms of waves. Those waves can then be described in terms of intensity and frequency.<\/p>\n<p>Intensity has to do with the strength of the magnetic component of the electromagnetic energy. It is measured in Teslas (T). Frequency is how many complete waves occur in a given time period. 2 Hertz (Hz) means that two complete oscillations\u2014a complete wave\u2014goes by in one second.<\/p>\n<p>Electromagnetic fields occur on a spectrum from extremely low frequencies to extremely high frequencies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4630448\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy size-full wp-image-4630448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/electromagnetic_spectrum-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"2500\" height=\"883\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4630448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/electromagnetic_spectrum-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"2500\" height=\"883\" \/><\/noscript> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.niehs.nih.gov\/health\/topics\/agents\/emf\/index.cfm\">National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>High-frequency electromagnetic radiation, like X-rays and Gamma rays, is \u201cionizing\u201d and can be harmful to people.<\/p>\n<p>Low-frequency electromagnetic radiation, called \u201cnon-ionizing,\u201d like visible light, isn\u2019t usually considered harmful. However, there is some debate about whether some sources of low-frequency electromagnetic fields are harmful to health.<\/p>\n<p>Electromagnetic fields are all over. They are produced by any device that uses electricity, including your hair dryer, computer, and microwave oven.<\/p>\n<p>They are also produced naturally. A large, low-frequency electromagnetic field is produced by the earth\u2019s core. It\u2019s part of our atmosphere and is called the magnetosphere. Electromagnetic fields are also created and amplified by the regular occurrence of lightning storms around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Montagnier also demonstrated that even tiny fragments of DNA can produce electromagnetic fields.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Why Is 7 Hz the Magic Number?<\/h2>\n<p>According to Dr. Montagnier, an electromagnetic field of about 7 hertz was essential for the experiment to work.<\/p>\n<p>What is special about this number?<\/p>\n<p>Well, it turns out that this frequency is very similar to the frequency of the Schumann resonances naturally produced by the earth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/sunearth\/news\/gallery\/schumann-resonance.html\">Schumann resonances<\/a> are a set of electromagnetic waves that bounce around the earth. These resonances are generated by lightning discharges that happen in the space between the earth\u2019s surface and the ionosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Because they have just the right wavelength for the diameter of the Earth, these waves combine and increase in strength, causing a repeating electromagnetic \u201cheartbeat.\u201d The ionosphere and the surface act as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Waveguide\">waveguides<\/a>, trapping the electromagnetic waves and causing them to resonate around the planet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4630450\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy size-full wp-image-4630450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/645644main_SchumannAnim_946-710.jpeg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"946\" height=\"710\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4630450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/645644main_SchumannAnim_946-710.jpeg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"946\" height=\"710\" \/><\/noscript> At any given moment about 2,000 thunderstorms roll over Earth, producing some 50 flashes of lightning every second. Each lightning burst creates electromagnetic waves that begin to circle around Earth captured between Earth\u2019s surface and a boundary about 60 miles up. Some of the waves \u2013 if they have just the right wavelength \u2013 combine, increasing in strength, to create a repeating atmospheric heartbeat known as Schumann resonance. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/sunearth\/news\/gallery\/schumann-resonance.html\">NASA<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>These resonances were first predicted in 1952 by the German physicist Winfried Otto Schumann, and the waves were named after him. They were first measured reliably in the early 1960s and are now recognized to make up the principal part of the Earth\u2019s electromagnetic spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, scientists have discovered that variations in the resonances correspond to changes in the seasons, solar activity, activity in Earth\u2019s magnetic environment, atmospheric water aerosols, and other Earth-bound phenomena.<\/p>\n<p>Schumann resonances occur between 3 hertz and 60 hertz, but the dominant wave of these resonances tends to hover around 7.83 hertz\u2014almost exactly the same as Dr. Montagnier and his team used in their study. This pulse of 7.83 hertz has been resonating around the planet for thousands of years.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Schumann Resonances May Affect our Health<\/h2>\n<p>Some research suggests that electromagnetic fields may play a role in regulating our bodily functions and maintaining health.<\/p>\n<p>For example, research has found that weak electromagnetic fields <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.3109\/00207459608986696\">can help reverse the rare acute Parkinsonian syndrome<\/a> sometimes seen in multiple sclerosis (MS). In other patients with MS, weak electromagnetic fields were found to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.3109\/00207459709000634\">resolve sleep paralysis symptoms<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One proposed reason for this effect is that some of the control systems in living organisms are based on <a href=\"https:\/\/zoryglaser.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/ELECTROMAGNETIC-AND-LIFE-PROCESSES.pdf\">mechanisms of electric conduction<\/a>. Research suggests that some organs\u2014for example, the brain and other neural structures\u2014can be especially sensitive to changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Natalia-Belisheva-2\/publication\/280531253_QUALITATIVE_AND_QUANTITATIVE_EVALUATION_OF_THE_EFFECT_OF_GEOMAGNETIC_FIELD_VARIATIONS_ON_THE_FUNCTIONAL_STATE_OF_THE_HUMAN_BRAIN\/links\/55b7b3eb08aec0e5f43840f7\/QUALITATIVE-AND-QUANTITATIVE-EVALUATION-OF-THE-EFFECT-OF-GEOMAGNETIC-FIELD-VARIATIONS-ON-THE-FUNCTIONAL-STATE-OF-THE-HUMAN-BRAIN.pdf\">geomagnetic fields<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, geomagnetic storms may interfere with the normal functioning of our bodies. For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s00484-017-1460-8#citeas\">one study<\/a> found that artificially created geomagnetic storms were associated with loss of circadian patterns in the rhythms of cardiac function.<\/p>\n<p>If electromagnetic fields play a role in our health, could Schumann resonances\u2014those fields generated naturally on the Earth\u2014also affect health?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the other ways that Schumann resonances, and the low-frequency electromagnetic pulses they create around the earth, are thought to foster health in people.<\/p>\n<h2>Schumann Resonances and Blood Pressure<\/h2>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/16275477\/\">one study<\/a> on a sample of 56 Japanese adults, researchers investigated whether there were physical differences in participants on days when there are \u201cenhanced\u201d Schumann resonances and other, normal days. \u201cEnhanced\u201d Schumann resonance days are days with especially high magnetic intensities, resulting from atmospheric electrical events.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers looked at the impact of these \u201cenhanced\u201d Schumann resonance days on blood pressure, heart rate, general health, and depression. Participants wore a blood pressure monitor for a week and also completed daily health and depression surveys.<\/p>\n<p>They found that both systolic blood and diastolic pressure tend to be slightly lower on enhanced Schumann resonance days. They also found that heart rate varied more on days of enhanced Schumann resonances. Low blood pressure is an important indicator of health, as is high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5624990\/\">heart rate variability<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, these researchers also found that there were better scores of health indicators on days with lower blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p>(Note, there was no effect of enhanced Schumann resonance days or changes to blood pressure characteristics on depression scores.)<\/p>\n<p>The study suggests that Schumann resonances have an effect on blood pressure and heart rate, which are in turn related to health outcomes.<\/p>\n<h2>The Melatonin-Serotonin System<\/h2>\n<p>Melatonin is a hormone found in humans that plays an important role in a number of bodily functions, including synchronizing bodily rhythms. Importantly, it\u2019s involved in controlling the sleep-wake cycle and the regulation of blood pressure. In other mammals, it\u2019s also <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/j.1742-1241.2006.01191.x\">involved in yearly rhythms<\/a> including reproduction, molting, and hibernation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/researcharchive.lincoln.ac.nz\/bitstream\/handle\/10182\/3935\/90_n1_EMR_Schumann_Resonance_paper_1.pdf?sequence=1\">Some research<\/a> suggests that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) may influence melatonin levels.<\/p>\n<p>For example, <a href=\"http:\/\/jstor.org\/stable\/44996278\">one study<\/a> followed electrical utility workers who were exposed to electromagnetic fields of about 60 hertz. The researchers found that there was a significant reduction in melatonin metabolites in those workers\u2019 urine on the day after exposure. This suggests that exposure to the EMFs at 60 Hz could reduce melatonin. <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1111\/j.1600-079X.1996.tb00275.x\">Another study<\/a> found similar results in a sample of railway workers exposed to 16.7 Hz magnetic fields.<\/p>\n<p>Note that several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0013935102943707\">epidemiological<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1002\/bem.20254\">studies<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.physiology.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1152\/ajpregu.00280.2002\">failed<\/a> to find any effects of super low frequency (30 Hz to 300 Hz) magnetic fields on melatonin secretion. So the effect is not yet clearly established or understood.<\/p>\n<h2>Electromagnetic Fields as Therapy for Sleep<\/h2>\n<p>On the other hand, several studies have investigated the use of extremely low frequency (3 Hz to 30 Hz) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S1087079219300073\">to actually improve sleep<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/sleep\/article\/19\/4\/327\/2749847?login=true\">one randomized controlled study<\/a>, participants with chronic insomnia were either given a placebo treatment or exposure to low energy emission therapy for 20 minutes, three times a week, for four weeks. The field was generated through a spoon placed on the participants\u2019 tongues. The therapy used frequencies that ranged between 0.1 Hz and 10 Hz.<\/p>\n<p>The therapy seemed to be effective at reducing insomnia. In the group of patients receiving the active treatment, sleep time increased and there were 30% more sleep cycles per night. These changes weren\u2019t seen in the placebo group.<\/p>\n<p>Studies like these suggest that EMFs with frequencies similar to Schumann resonances may help facilitate sleep, at least in individuals suffering from insomnia. However, the effects of electromagnetic fields on either sleep or the melatonin system are not yet completely understood.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Schumann Resonances May Be the \u2018Tuning Fork\u2019 That Keeps our Bodies Regulated<\/h2>\n<p>Schumann resonances are ubiquitous on the earth and the dominant wave consistently sits at a frequency of 7.83 Hz.<\/p>\n<p>Remarkably, this is about the same frequency as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/281316806_Schumann_Resonance_and_Brain_Waves_A_Quantum_Description\">electromagnetic waves produced by the human brain<\/a>. Indeed, all animals with a central nervous system emit brain waves that fall into the range of 8-10 Hz.<\/p>\n<p>And, even more remarkably, this is precisely the same frequency that Dr. Montagnier used in his experiments. His work suggests that a 7 Hz electromagnetic frequency can facilitate the imprinting of DNA in water, which enzymes can subsequently use to build an entirely new strand of DNA.<\/p>\n<p>Is it only a simple coincidence? No. We can\u2019t attribute this complex life phenomenon again to a coincidence. There must be a reason behind this.<\/p>\n<p>Life evolved in the context of Schumann resonances. And those resonances may continue to play an important role in regulating many physiological processes in Earth\u2019s living organisms.<\/p>\n<h2>We\u2019re Still Discovering the Effect of Electromagnetic Fields on Our Health<\/h2>\n<p>While the exact nature of the role that Schumann resonances play in our health is unclear, there does appear to be some evidence that the specific frequency range of these waves may be important for regulating human health.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, exposure to frequencies outside of that range may de-regulate physiological processes. High-frequency EMFs are known to damage human DNA and cells. And even low-frequency electromagnetic fields may cause health issues, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.gov\/about-cancer\/causes-prevention\/risk\/radiation\/electromagnetic-fields-fact-sheet#:~:text=The%20Working%20Group%20classified%20ELF,to%20humans%E2%80%9D%20(13).\">including\u2014possibly\u2014cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Possible explanations for the contradictory data seen in the results include that there are many different types of invisible EMF in the universe, that the studies were conducted under different types of EMF, and that some undiscovered EMF may have influenced the subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Montagnier isn\u2019t Dr. Frankenstein. Thankfully, we\u2019re still unable to create life in a monster sewn together from dead tissue by sending electricity into it.<\/p>\n<p>But it appears increasingly likely that electromagnetic fields can influence our health in much more subtle ways.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the earth\u2019s own electromagnetic behavior may be one of the key ways that our body regulates itself to keep us healthy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>References\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Altun, A., &#038; Ugur-Altun, B.
