There are no credible news reports to suggest that the former president made these comments.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbpp.org\/research\/federal-budget\/trump-budget-continues-multi-year-assault-on-irs-funding-despite-mnuchins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities<\/a> alleged in March 2017 that Trump and congressional Republicans would propose \u201ca broad revamp of the tax code that would create new opportunities for tax avoidance.\u201d The IRS is poised to receive over $80 billion in funding through 2031 in a reconciliation package currently being brokered in the Senate should it pass, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloombergtax.com\/daily-tax-report\/biden-poised-to-get-win-on-irs-funding-in-reconciliation-package\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post claims Trump would sign an executive order abolishing the IRS if he\u2019s re-elected. The post also claims the former president referred \u201clong sought\u201d to end the agency and had been planning to do so before the 2020 presidential election, citing unnamed sources inside his Mar-a-Lago resort.<\/p>\n<p>The claim is baseless. Check Your Fact found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=trump+to+abolish+irs+if+re-elected&#038;oq=trump+to+abolish+irs+if+re-elected&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57.7021j0j7&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no credible news reports<\/a> to suggest the former president has publicly announced or is quietly planning to abolish the agency should he win. Trump also has not issued any such statement on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donaldjtrump.com\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official website<\/a> nor on his <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TRUTH Social<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<p>A keyword search reveals that the claim stems from a <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2022\/07\/trump-to-abolish-irs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 28 article<\/a> published on the website, Real Raw News.
