The original article does not make the claim featured in the post.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Klondike, an ice cream product company, announced July 25 that the Choco Taco would be discontinued, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/26\/business\/choco-taco-klondike-discontinued.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>. The company cited \u201can unprecedented spike in demand\u201d in their portfolio forcing the discontinuation, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a Facebook image appears to show an article from People Magazine written by Jenny Talia on July 25, about the Choco Taco titled, \u201cKlondike\u2019s Choco Taco Cancelled By Woke Mob After Almost 40 Years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA representative for the brand confirmed to People that due to recent allegations of \u2018cultural appropriation,\u2019 the Choco Taco is no more,\u201d the article\u2019s sub headline read. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/30\/fact-check-fanta-lemon-discontinued-may-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: FACT CHECK: Is Fanta Lemon Being Discontinued In Europe In May 2022?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article is digitally fabricated. Neither <a href=\"https:\/\/www.klondikebar.com\/us\/en\/search\/products.html?q=Klondike%27s+Choco+Taco+Cancelled+By+Woke+Mob+After+Almost+40+Years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Klondike\u2019s website<\/a> nor its verified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/14240344908\/search\/?q=Klondike%27s%20Choco%20Taco%20Cancelled%20By%20Woke%20Mob%20After%20Almost%2040%20Years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?lang=en&#038;q=%22Klondike%27s%20Choco%20Taco%20Cancelled%20By%20Woke%20Mob%20After%20Almost%2040%20Years%22%20(from%3AKlondikebar)%20lang%3Aen&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/klondikebar\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pages<\/a> feature any such claim that the Choco Taco was discontinued because of cultural appropriation. No such article under the title appears on People Magazine\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/search\/?q=Klondike%27s+Choco+Taco+Cancelled+By+Woke+Mob+After+Almost+40+Years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A similar <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/food\/klondikes-choco-taco-discontinued-after-almost-40-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a>, titled \u201cKlondike\u2019s Choco Taco Discontinued After Almost 40 Years,\u201d shares the same timestamp and image featured in the Facebook post. Allegations of cultural appropriation do not appear in the article or video.
