Version: 4.0.47--><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-republicans\">Republicans<\/a> were victorious in their\u00a087th annual Congressional Baseball Game against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-democrats\">Democrats<\/a>\u00a0at Nationals Park in Washington on Thursday night, marking their second win in a row.<\/p>\n<p>GOP lawmakers beat Democrats 10\u20130 in a seven-inning game, in what they no doubt hope to be indicative of the\u00a0November midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0congressional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-baseball-2\">baseball<\/a> game started in 1909 and, in recent years, has been played annually, although it was canceled in 2020 and delayed in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>All of the ticket revenue for Thursday\u2019s game helps support several Washington-area charities including\u00a0the Boys and Girls clubs of Washington and the Washington Literacy Center.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s game saw a record number of ticket sales and donations, raising more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.witn.com\/2022\/07\/29\/rep-greg-murphy-takes-field-north-carolina-congressional-baseball-game\/\">$1.7 million<\/a> for local organizations, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n<p>Despite lawmakers putting\u00a0on a show of bipartisanship\u00a0for one night, the game was not without its politics.<\/p>\n<p>A group of climate change protesters descended on the event\u00a0where they demanded that the President Joe Biden administration and lawmakers act faster to address climate change before three people were arrested after blocking\u00a0one of the entrances to the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The protestors also wanted Biden to declare a\u00a0climate emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Video <a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6310146768112#sp=show-clips\">footage<\/a> from the event shows the group of protestors walking around outside the event while\u00a0 brandishing\u00a0signs that read: \u201cThis is a climate emergency\u201d and \u201cDemocrats: Seal the deal on climate!\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u2018Climate Justice\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>They also chanted \u201cno more fossil fuel\u201d and that they want \u201cclimate justice\u201d before sitting down on the ground outside the event while law enforcement officials stood around them.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the protestors could later be seen being removed from outside the baseball game by police.<\/p>\n<p>Three protesters were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/picketing-climate-protestors-arrested-at-congressional-baseball-game_4629992.html\">arrested and charged<\/a> with unlawful entry at Thursday\u2019s game, said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has contacted the\u00a0Metropolitan Police Department for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Another 10 activists<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republicans were victorious in their\u00a087th annual Congressional Baseball Game against Democrats\u00a0at Nationals Park in Washington on Thursday night, marking their second win in a row.
