The event was not affiliated with NATO.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Facebook video, viewed over 2,100 times, appears to show two women dancing in front of a crowd as a panel looks on. \u201cMeanwhile\u2026.. they are taking serious decisions at Nato,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads, though it does not clarify when or where the video was taken.<\/p>\n<p>The video is not related to any NATO event. A reverse image search reveals the same footage was uploaded to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KdyygU7XGI0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> in 2017 with the title \u201cLeftist science at Ghent University [Belgium].\u201d The University of Ghent logo and name are visible on the podium, alongside the European Union and Belgian flag.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>\u201cThe event took place at Ghent University (Aula Academica), but no, it had nothing to do with NATO,\u201d Stephanie Lenoir, a spokesperson for the University of Ghent, told Check Your Fact in an email when asked about the footage. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/29\/fact-check-nato-lithuania-expulsion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did A Pentagon Spokesperson Demand Lithuania Be Expelled From NATO?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lenoir added that \u201cthe performance was part of the ceremony for the opening of the academic year in 2017. It was an artistic intermezzo by the theatre company and performance group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionzoohumain.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Action Zoo Humain<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She directed Check Your Fact to <a href=\"https:\/\/beeld.ugent.be\/nl\/fotoalbum\/opening-academiejaar-2017?page=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">images of the performance<\/a> on the University of Ghent\u2019s website. The group of images, titled \u201cOpening academic year 2017\/2018 with transfer of recorship (296 photos),\u201d show the <a href=\"https:\/\/beeld.ugent.be\/nl\/fotoalbum\/foto\/z2017-203-320\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">same<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/beeld.ugent.be\/nl\/fotoalbum\/foto\/z2017-203-307\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dancers<\/a> visible in the video. The group identifies itself as a \u201ctheatre company &#038; performance group\u201d on its <a href=\"https:\/\/actionzoohumain.be\/en\/mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>.
