Joe Manchin of West Virginia became the latest prominent Democrat to decline to endorse President Joe Biden should he run for re-election in 2024 during an interview on Chris Cuomo\u2019s podcast Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Joe Biden runs again and he is the Democratic nominee, depending on who the Republican nominee is, we will just have to wait and see,\u201d Manchin told Chris Cuomo on the latter\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/ca\/podcast\/sen-joe-manchin\/id1635418897?i=1000571429990\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">podcast<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wboy.com\/news\/west-virginia\/manchin-declines-to-endorse-biden-in-2024-presidential-race\/\">according<\/a> to WBOY. \u201cI am not predicting anything or how I would support or not support, or get involved or not. NewsNation <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/26\/chris-cuomo-host-prime-time-show-newsnation\/\">announced<\/a> Tuesday Cuomo would host a primetime show this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin dodged the question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I don\u2019t know what to tell you on that,\u201d Manchin said. \u201cI\u2019m always for the right person when they\u2019re running.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manchin also doubted a Democrat could carry West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that basically, the people will make a decision state by state,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Other Democrats have hesitated to endorse a potential Biden re-election bid in recent weeks. Democratic Reps. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/12\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-endorse-biden-cnn-dana-bash\/\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> of New York and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/25\/bush-biden-interview-reelection-2024\/\">Cori Bush<\/a> of Missouri both dodged questions about endorsing Biden for a second term.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin recently <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/27\/joe-manchin-will-support-reconciliation-package\/\">struck a deal<\/a> with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to back legislation to address prescription drug prices, address energy prices and combat climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
