The claim stems from a satirical website.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trudeau, who has served as prime minister since 2015, was investigated for a potential ethics violation in 2021 after the federal government hired a charity he had personal ties to, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-57106948\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a>. He was eventually cleared of wrongdoing, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Now, an image shared on Facebook claims the prime minister is facing a more serious accusation and investigation. The image shows a screen grab of a tweet that reads, \u201cINTERPOL: Justin Trudeau under investigation for genocide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSame group who arrested the head of the w.h.o. is eyeballing Trudeau,\u201d the post\u2019s caption claims. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/12\/27\/fact-check-justin-trudeau-limiting-your-human-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: FACT CHECK: Did Justin Trudeau Say He Was \u2018Limiting Your Human Rights\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tweet\u2019s claim is baseless.
