But did you know that companies from China have been buying up land across America that\u2019s valued in the billions and coincidentally \u2013 or strategically \u2013 located near military installations and other critical targets?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Recent reports indicate that China has intensified its economic investments allowing for some interesting positioning of assets scattered throughout America\u2019s flyover states. These reports of increased Chinese investments in American land and real estate are raising new concerns over the communist regime\u2019s goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Related:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/fox-news-greg-gutfeld-china-isnt-americas-biggest-threat-america-is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fox News\u2019 Greg Gutfeld Says China Isn\u2019t America\u2019s Biggest Threat \u2013 America Is!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A purchase of what at first glance appears to be a boring swathe of land in the middle of nowhere North Dakota is what\u2019s caught the eye of lawmakers and the intelligence community. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Why, you might ask? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The land is a mere 20 minutes from Grand Forks Air Force Base.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Keeping a Close Watch?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While not on most airman\u2019s dream list of bases to be stationed, Grand Forks Air Force Base is a critical strategic military asset as it houses the RQ-4 Global Hawk Drone. Not only do these bad boys look cool, but they also provide quintessential and game-changing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) for American troops when deployed to war zones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The base is also home to the new space networking center, which, as one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/expropriate-china-owned-farmland-america-opinion-1727453\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Dakota Senator said<\/a>, is \u201cthe backbone of all U.S. military communications across the globe.\u201d So, in a nutshell, the base houses some pretty significant and pretty sensitive military assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While it shouldn\u2019t take a rocket scientist to deduce the risk of a Chinese-based company buying up land near a base like this, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/01\/chinese-purchase-of-north-dakota-farmland-raises-national-security-concerns-in-washington.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.-China Economic and Security Review<\/a> Commission warned back in May that\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe location of the land close to the base is particularly convenient for monitoring air traffic flows in and out of the base, among other security-related concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"subscribe\" class=\"email-signup inarticle\">\n<h4>Support Conservative Voices!<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Sign up to receive the latest<\/strong> political news, insight, and commentary delivered directly to your inbox.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So who is this company that bought up all this land? The Fufeng Group purchased the 370 acres to build a wet corn mill.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fufeng Group\u2019s chairman Li Xuechen is a 12th People\u2019s Congress member. They also unapologetically operate in the Xinjiang province, which has come under consistent scrutiny for its treatment of the Uyghur population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/is-war-with-china-in-taiwan-to-protect-semiconductor-production-really-necessary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Is War With China In Taiwan To Protect Semiconductor Production Really Necessary?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Should we be Worried?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/courage-strength-optimism\/security-concerns-china-land-minutes-military-drone-base\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Force Major<\/a> from the base wrote a memo in April that said, <\/span>\u201cIf proximal access were given to our adversaries, and their collections were directed at us, it would present a costly national security risk causing grave damage to [the] United States strategic advantages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is important to note that the Major was not speaking on behalf of the U.S. military, as clarified by Colonel and Commander <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/courage-strength-optimism\/security-concerns-china-land-minutes-military-drone-base\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Timothy Curry<\/a> at a local city town hall<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI still do not have any leadership relaying a clear security threat,\u201d said Curry<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Given the Department of Defense\u2019s recent track record with assessing anything, I\u2019m not so sure that should settle any discomfort locals feel over the land purchase. However, North Dakota <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/courage-strength-optimism\/security-concerns-china-land-minutes-military-drone-base?utm_source=Alert_Brief%20-%202022-07-25%205:43%20PM_07\/25\/2022&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_campaign=WEX_News%20Brief&#038;rid=24893717&#038;env=6cf3152b021a81465ac64cfe3afcfd574d1796d1219975c6203929dc7453859d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Governor Doug Burgum<\/a> said back in January that by having<\/span>\u00a0\u201cFufeng in Grand Forks, it will be North Dakota \u2013 not China \u2013 that reaps the benefits of the jobs, facilities, economic activity, and the revenue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Interestingly, Governor Burgum\u2019s stance is different from those in D.C. Besides Senator Marco Rubio, who has spoken out against this particular purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should be seriously concerned about Chinese investment in locations close to sensitive sites, such as military bases around the U.S.\u201d said\u00a0<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/17\/us\/grand-forks-north-dakota-fufeng-china.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark Warner<\/a> (D-Va.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What might not be common knowledge is that China has been buying up land and perching close to military bases for a while now.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At Least Somebody is Interested in Middle America<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While it often feels as though politicians and the elite like to ignore and ridicule middle America, China looks pretty interested in what <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/liberal-celebrity-wanda-sykes-attacks-middle-america-providing-electoral-college-fans-a-built-in-argument\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wanda Sykes called<\/a> \u201cthe red stuff in the middle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Last year China bought up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/chinas-increasing-us-real-estate-portfolio-a-major-cause-for-domestic-concern-carter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">130,000 acres near Laughlin Air Force Base<\/a> in Del Rio, Texas. Not only is that interesting given its proximity to the base, but it\u2019s also eyebrow-raising given the land\u2019s closeness to the border and the amount of Fentanyl coming through at that location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This tactic of buying agricultural land has been going on for a few years. <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/25\/ron-desantis-blasts-china-for-buying-up-florida-farmland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In 2019<\/a> the U.S. Department of Agriculture spotlighted that Chinese-linked organizations owned about 192,000 acres of farmland worth more than $1.9 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Perhaps most chilling is what the FBI uncovered regarding the Chinese company Huawei. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/23\/politics\/fbi-investigation-huawei-china-defense-department-communications-nuclear\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Huawei had installed equipment<\/a> on top of cell towers all along the mid-west, all near military installations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This equipment, it was discovered, is capable of not just collecting information but also disrupting defense communications. So why should we care about these locations in the midwest?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Many of our nuclear capabilities are positioned throughout these mid-west military facilities. Therefore, you would think that this discovery would prompt the removal of this equipment. However, due to federal funding issues, the equipment remains.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Should we Start Learning Mandarin?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">China\u2019s efforts to infiltrate our country have been steadily increasing and multifaceted. For example, in 2017, China offered to spend $100 million to build a Chinese garden at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While initially celebrated by some, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11046503\/FBI-killed-100M-Chinese-government-garden-perfect-intelligence.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI was able to head this project off<\/a> because the garden was set to break ground on the highest point in our capitol, a mere two miles from the Capitol building setting it up for ideal intelligence gathering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Additionally, the deal hinged on China being allowed to ship its supplies in diplomatic containers, making them exempt from customs examinations. Yeah, that seems wise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Then there are China\u2019s continued efforts to influence American higher education through what was known as Confucius Institutes. After discovering these \u2018institutes\u2019 were being used as a foreign mission to elevate the CCP vision, many were closed down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/controversial-confucius-institutes-returning-to-u-s-schools-under-new-name\/6635906.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of the 104 closed<\/a>, 28 have been replaced with the same repackaged program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2022\/07\/06\/china-taiwan-fbi-wray-sanctions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI Director Christopher Wray<\/a> told CNN that they open a counterintelligence investigation against China every 12 hours. I imagine part of China\u2019s strategy is to flood our intelligence community with these investigations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The scary thing about all of this is that it\u2019s nothing new, the Chinese have been doing this for a while now.
