All he had to do was turn the lights back on and go back to sleep. Instead, he spent more money than has ever been seen before, enforced idiotic energy policy at home and abroad, and implemented a foreign policy which handed over Afghanistan to the Taliban, emboldened China, and triggered the Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Not bad for 18 months of work!<\/p>\n<p>And what is the Biden strategy for turning the tide? Rather than admitting fault, they\u2019re just redefining the common understanding of what a recession is!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And just like that, boom! No recession!<\/p>\n<p>Biden himself chose to move the goalposts by taking credit (again) for the country\u2019s 3.6% unemployment rate \u2014 which is still higher than the 3.5% unemployment rate under former President Donald Trump before the man-made economic shutdown of March 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re not going to be in a recession, in my view,\u201d Biden said. \u201cThe unemployment rate is still one of the lowest we\u2019ve had in history. It\u2019s in the 3.6 percent area. We still find ourselves with people investing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy hope is we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth. And so, we\u2019ll see some coming down. But I don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to \u2014 God willing \u2014 I don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to see a recession,\u201d Biden added.<\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/07\/24\/icymi-treasury-secretary-yellen-says-us-economy-not-in-recession\/\" rel=\"\">said<\/a><span> that we are not in a recession, but rather a \u201cperiod of transition in which growth is slowing,\u201d and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/bidens-says-were-not-gonna-be-in-a-recession-as-second-quarter-gdp-report-looms?utm_campaign=64487\" rel=\"\">that<\/a><span> \u201c&#8221;Even if [GDP growth] is negative, we are not in a recession now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I would, you know, warn that we should not characterizing that as a recession,\u201d she argued.<\/p>\n<p><span>Not to be outdone in a competition for \u201cwho\u2019s the dumbest,\u201d White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeated this nonsensical logic, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Forbes\/status\/1551356555060183043\" rel=\"\">saying<\/a><span> that \u201cwe\u2019re seeing the strength of the economy and the labor market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are two issues here. <\/p>\n<p><span>The first is that the Biden administration likely already knows that we have been in a recession for months, and are doing preemptive damage control by shifting the goalposts in the same way as debates surrounding gender, biology, or war \u2014 who remembers Biden\u2019s \u201cminor incursion\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/global-politics\/commentary\/joe-bidens-minor-incursion-russia-remark-history-proves-it-was-mistake\" rel=\"\">moment<\/a><span>?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The second, however, is even more demonstrative of his inability to lead: the attempt to compare this recession to other recessions.<\/p>\n<p>Except this recession is unlike others because it is \u2014 again \u2014 entirely man-made. We are in a recession because of Biden\u2019s horrendous monetary and energy policy partnered with his brainless foreign policy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is no external factor which has caused an economic crash beyond the stumbling fingers of Biden and his chosen few.
