She died from a collapsed lung, TMZ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2022\/07\/25\/hank-williams-jr-wife-mary-jane-thomas-cause-death-collapsed-lung-plastic-surgery-mishap\/\">reported<\/a> Monday. The 58-year-old died one day after she went under the knife for liposuction.<\/p>\n<p id=\"cb-e226349ded7db3b41fcbfad1ad4c6ec8\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default\" data-context=\"{\" section>Her death is being classified as an accident, according to the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner, TMZ said. The examiner reportedly confirmed Thomas suffered a fatal injury during a cosmetic procedure.<\/p>\n<p id=\"cb-336aec7073173a51fbf23ab84c55a762\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default\" data-context=\"{\" section>Thomas had liposuction on her back, arms, and stomach, the report noted, adding that she also had her breast implants removed.<\/p>\n<p data-context=\"{\" section>After her passing, the couple\u2019s son Sam <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/country-legend-hank-williams-jr-mourning-loss-of-wife-of-more-than-thirty-years\">released<\/a> a statement mourning the loss.<\/p>\n<p data-context=\"{\" section>\u201cMy dear Mama Mary Jane was a beautiful soul who forever affected everyone who knew her,\u201d Sam said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/country-legend-hank-williams-jr-mourning-loss-of-wife-of-more-than-thirty-years\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported. \u201cShe had a smile and presence that lit up every room and she never met a stranger she didn\u2019t befriend. Her spirit was gentle and giving. She could take down a ten-point buck and fix dinner for her grandchildren at the same time! Now she gets to radiate from above with my sister Katherine Diana right by her side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-context=\"{\" section>\u201cShe grew up competing in baton and cheerleading and was one of Hawaiian Tropic\u2019s top models,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cMy father fell in love with the Daytona Beach beauty the minute he set eyes on her in the early \u201980s.
