He or she would already have resigned in disgrace. But Rashida Tlaib won\u2019t even be asked about this: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/rashida-tlaib-campaign-events-terror-financiers-hamas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a>\u00a0reported Monday that \u201ctwo men who held key positions at nonprofit groups that were found liable in a\u00a0Hamas\u00a0terror financing scheme helped organize campaign fundraising events for Rep.\u00a0Rashida Tlaib\u00a0(D-MI) in 2018.\u201d Really, is anyone surprised? This is what Michigan&#8217;s 13th congressional district elected that year and reelected in 2020. This is, apparently, what Michigan&#8217;s 13th congressional district wants.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThis all goes back to the notorious Holy Land Foundation trial, in which a large number of the major Muslim organizations in the United States were named unindicted co-conspirators in efforts to funnel funds to Hamas. Tlaib\u2019s campaign event organizers, according to the Examiner, \u201cwere associated with a network of nonprofit groups that were found liable by a federal jury in 2004 for financing the terrorist slaying of an American teenager, David Boim, at a bus stop in the\u00a0West Bank\u00a0in 1996. A federal judge ordered the three groups to pay Boim\u2019s parents a $156 million judgment for funding Hamas, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHowever, the courtroom victory was fleeting: \u201cthe groups \u2014 the Holy Land Foundation, the American Muslim Society, and the Islamic Association for Palestine \u2014 never paid up. They shut down shortly after they were ordered to pay the landmark judgment to the Boim family. The Holy Land Foundation ultimately had its monetary assets seized by the United States, and five of its leaders were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/federal-judge-hands-downs-sentences-holy-land-foundation-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentenced<\/a>\u00a0to decades in prison in 2008, for providing material support to Hamas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRafeeq Jaber had been president of both the American Muslim Society and the Islamic Association for Palestine. Jaber\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/casetext.com\/case\/boim-v-quranic-literacy-institute#ab90bca6-ea2f-4156-9b13-c52aca870dfd-fn3\">testified<\/a>\u00a0that the two groups, while under his control, worked to \u2018promote [Holy Land Foundation] in every way we can\u2019 and also distributed pro-Hamas documents, including an August 2001 editorial that advocated martyrdom operations and the killing of Jewish people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIf you think that today, in the America that Barack Obama and Joe Biden and their henchmen have made, a man who openly supported a group that the U.S. State Department considers a terrorist organization would have no entr\u00e9e into American politics at any level, think again: \u201cJaber was identified as a member of the \u201cHosting Committee\u201d for a Tlaib campaign fundraiser in July 2018, according to a flier posted on Facebook. The event was paid for by Tlaib\u2019s congressional campaign, the flier stated. Jaber was also filmed sitting in the front row of an intimate Tlaib campaign fundraising event in March 2018,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/naderalghoul\/videos\/10160185295285293\/?t=584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">footage<\/a>\u00a0of the event uploaded to Facebook shows.\u201d Consider also the fact that this is all coming to light now, four years later. When it actually happened in 2018, no one cared. Someone must have known who Rafeeq Jaber was. No one cared.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNor was Jaber alone. \u201cThe second Tlaib campaign organizer, Salah Sarsour, helped raise money for the Islamic Association for Palestine and the Holy Land Foundation around the time of Boim\u2019s killing and, in one case, allegedly wrote checks from his business\u2019s bank account to funnel money to a Hamas militant\u2026.Salah Sarsour also played an active role in raising funds for the Holy Land Foundation \u2018that is actually for HAMAS,\u2019 a 2001 FBI\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investigativeproject.org\/documents\/misc\/816.pdf#page=49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">memorandum<\/a>\u00a0stated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNonetheless, Salah Sarsour \u201cco-hosted a fundraising event for Tlaib\u2019s campaign on July 28, 2018, according to a flier\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10209887253138518&#038;set=pcb.2033740569972584&#038;type=3&#038;theater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a>\u00a0to Facebook. The event was \u2018paid for by Rashida Tlaib for Congress,\u2019 the flier stated. He then appeared in multiple photos with Tlaib at the fundraiser. Tlaib\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/143637135649613\/posts\/2039509692729005\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reacted<\/a>\u00a0to a Facebook post containing three photos of her posing with Salah Sarsour at the fundraiser with a heart symbol from her personal Facebook account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOnce again, no one cared. This was four years ago. Someone, and likely many people, who saw the photos of Sarsour with Tlaib must have known about Salah Sarsour\u2019s past and links to Hamas. But given Tlaib\u2019s record since she has been in Congress, why would that have bothered anyone involved with her campaign?<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRashida Tlaib will be reelected in November 2022, making it clear that Michigan&#8217;s 13th congressional district, as it is currently constituted after years of mass migration from Islamic lands, has no problem with any of this at all.
