The claim stems from a satirical website.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tim Hortons is a popular Canadian restaurant chain that was founded by Toronto Maple Leafs player Tim Horton in Hamilton, Ontario in 1964, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca\/en\/article\/tim-hortons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian Encyclopedia<\/a>. As of 2022, there are 3,530 Tim Horton\u2019s locations in Canada, with almost half of those locations in Ontario alone, data company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scrapehero.com\/location-reports\/Tim%20Hortons-Canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ScrapeHero<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Now, an image shared on Facebook claims Daniel Schwartz, who serves as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.com\/English\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">co-chairman<\/a> of the company that owns the Tim Hortons brand, was arrested on charges of possessing child pornography. The image shows what appears to be a news article from the \u201cVancouver Times\u201d with a headline that reads, \u201cCEO of Tim Hortons arrested for possession of child pornography.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claims are baseless. As previously noted, Schwartz is not the CEO of Tim Hortons but an executive for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbi.com\/English\/about-us\/board-of-directors\/person-details\/default.aspx?ItemId=67a9ba6f-9f5b-4d77-b9cc-601f29f80c5f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Restaurant Brands International<\/a> (RBI), the company that owns the Tim Hortons brand.\u00a0Check Your Fact found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=daniel+schwartz+ceo+of+tim+horton%27s+arrested+for+child+porn&#038;oq=daniel+schwartz+ceo+of+tim+horton%27s+arrested+for+child+porn&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57.23235j0j7&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no credible news reports<\/a> to suggest he was arrested on any criminal charges.
