That price is 66 cents off the mid-June high average price of $5.01, AAA\u2019s highest-ever recorded average price. Biden and his administration took considerable flak for routinely framing the hike in gas prices as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/white-house-rebrands-rising-gas-prices-putin-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Putin\u2019s price hike<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of online commenters jumped on the graphic, highlighting that current prices <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/22\/jill-biden-heckled-connecticut-ice-cream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">remain higher<\/a> than they were when Biden assumed the presidency, the impacts of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/19\/rising-inflation-drives-elderly-americans-taxes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inflation<\/a>\u00a0and the inconsistencies in the administration\u2019s messaging. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/02\/white-house-joe-biden-messaging-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
