The claim stems from a satirical website.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scopolamine is a synthetic drug used to \u201cprevent nausea and vomiting\u201d induced by motion sickness or medications used in surgery, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/druginfo\/meds\/a682509.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medline Plus<\/a>. The drug is also known as \u201cdevil\u2019s breath\u201d due to its alleged ability to remove a person\u2019s free will and has reportedly been utilized by thieves in South American countries, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/shortcuts\/2015\/sep\/02\/devils-breath-aka-scopolamine-can-it-really-zombify-you\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Guardian<\/a> reports. The drug is both odorless and tasteless, according to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thescienceexplorer.com\/brain-and-body\/scopolamine-mind-control-drug-most-dangerous-world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science Explorer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A post shared on Facebook claims the U.S. military recently found evidence of the drug in COVID-19 vaccines. \u201cThe U.S. military has found the drug scopolamine in Covid-19 vaccines destined to reach the arms of children, sources in Gen. David H. Berger\u2019s office told Real Raw News,\u201d reads part of the post.<\/p>\n<p>The claim is false. There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Scopolamine+Found+in+Child+Covid+Vaccines&#038;oq=Scopolamine+Found+in+Child+Covid+Vaccines&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60.989j0j7&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no credible news reports<\/a> suggesting such a drug has been found in any COVID-19 vaccines. There is no mention of such a discovery on the Department of Defense\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=scopolamine&#038;affiliate=defensegov&#038;utf8=%26%23x2713%3B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. Similarly, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=scopolamine+found+in+children%27s+covid+vaccines+recall&#038;affiliate=fda1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no press releases<\/a> on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\u2019s (FDA) website or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=scopolamine%20(from%3AUS_FDA)&#038;src=typed_query&#038;f=top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile\/100064421034750\/search\/?q=scopolamine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/USFoodandDrugAdmin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a> indicating that any traces of scopolamine were discovered in COVID-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>The full ingredients of all the FDA-approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccines, including those produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/different-vaccines\/Pfizer-BioNTech.html#ingredients\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pfizer-BioNTech<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/different-vaccines\/Moderna.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moderna<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/different-vaccines\/janssen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johnson and Johnson<\/a>, are publicly available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u2019s website. None contain scopolamine. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/01\/25\/fact-check-kerry-chant-covid-vaccine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did The Chief Health Officer Of New South Wales Celebrate Having \u2018Only 3 Deaths\u2019 In Children Attributed To The COVID Vaccine?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A keyword search revealed the viral claim stems from a July 21 <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2022\/07\/scopolamine-found-in-child-covid-vaccines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> published by the website Real Raw News.
