Michael Waltz (R-Fla.), a retired Army Green Beret, wrote for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/covid-vaccine-mandates-biden-admin-cripple-national-guard\">Fox News<\/a> on Monday morning, saying that if the mandate is ultimately enforced, the Guard \u201cwill be crippled\u201d due to a lack of staffing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo date, approximately 60,000 National Guard and Reserves remain unvaccinated and the pending decision from the Biden administration could punish the very service members who have been on the front lines of fighting this pandemic,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Combined with poor recruitment efforts, \u201cwoke indoctrination,\u201d and mandates, Waltz said that the U.S. military is \u201cbeing depleted\u201d in the midst of the Chinese regime\u2019s military buildup and the Russia\u2013Ukraine conflict. At the same time, the United States is soon to enter both its hurricane season, which generally starts in August, and its wildfire season, the congressman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo things have changed since the mandate was implemented.
