Nothing romantic,\u201d Musk added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the WSJ, which cited\u00a0records filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court, Brin filed\u00a0for divorce from Shanahan earlier this year, citing \u201cirreconcilable differences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The divorce filing was made several weeks after Brin allegedly learned of the alleged brief affair, which took place in\u00a0early December 2021, at the Art Basel event in Miami, according to the news outlet.\u00a0Brin did not provide the WSJ with comment to confirm the allegations about him and his wife.<\/p>\n<p>The WSJ report noted within the article that, at the time, Brin and his wife, who is an attorney and a research fellow at\u00a0CodeX, the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics, were separated but still living together, citing a person close to Shanahan.<\/p>\n<h2>Based on \u2018Random Hearsay\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cAt a party earlier this year, Mr. Musk dropped to one knee in front of Mr. Brin and apologized profusely for the transgression, begging for forgiveness, according to people with knowledge of the incident,\u201d the WSJ reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Brin acknowledged the apology, but still isn\u2019t speaking regularly to Mr. Musk, those people said,\u201d the report states.<br \/>In a separate <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1551389048572301312\">post on Twitter<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday, Musk joked: \u201cHaven\u2019t even had sex in ages (sigh).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk, the\u00a0richest person\u00a0in the\u00a0world, then called out the publication, saying the story about his\u00a0alleged affair had been based on\u00a0\u201cthird-party random hearsay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1551395049522335744\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cWSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have [a] solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In another <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1551392795545333760\">post<\/a>, the businessman stated that WSJ has run so many \u201chit pieces\u201d on him and his electric vehicle company that he has \u201clost count.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing for them, frankly. They once wrote an article saying [the] FBI was about to arrest me, so I called [the] FBI to ask what\u2019s up and they said [the] WSJ article was total bs. Just more shortseller fud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, The Wall Street Journal, based on anonymous sources, claimed that Musk\u00a0had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/wall-street-journal-claims-shadow-crew-of-billionaires-urged-elon-musk-to-buy-twitter_4440384.html\">persuaded to buy\u00a0Twitter\u00a0by a \u201cshadow crew\u201d<\/a> consisting of\u00a0\u00a0Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, billionaire investor Peter Thiel, entrepreneur David Sacks, and early Tesla investor and venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson.<\/p>\n<p>Musk again promptly contested that report.<\/p>\n<p>The businessman backed out of his $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform earlier this month claiming that Twitter has failed to provide the\u00a0necessary information needed to establish how many\u00a0automated bots and fake accounts are on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter is suing to force him to complete the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Brin is\u00a0the ninth richest person in the world, according to Forbes\u2019 real-time billionaire\u2019s list.<\/p>\n<p>According to the WSJ, he and Shanahan, who share a 3-year-old daughter, are now involved in divorce mediation and his estranged wife is seeking\u00a0more than $1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has contacted Google and CodeX spokespersons for comment.<\/p>\n<div class=\"author_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_author_block round\">\n<div class=\"top_row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/author-katabella-roberts\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Follow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Katabella Roberts is a reporter currently based in Turkey.
