We certainly hope that she will agree to come in voluntarily,\u201d Cheney told CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union\u201d on Sunday. Cheney is one of two Republicans that sit on the Democrat-dominated panel to investigate the breach of the U.S. Capital on Jan 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the committee is fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena if she does not,\u201d Cheney continued. \u201cI hope it doesn\u2019t get to that. I hope she will come in voluntarily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ginni Thomas has drawn scrutiny over her communication with former White House chief of Staff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-mark-meadows\">Mark Meadows<\/a> and Trump attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/former-trump-advisor-john-eastman-claims-he-was-frisked-by-fbi-agents-who-seized-his-phone_4562730.html\">John Eastman<\/a>. She reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/the-media-attacks-on-ginni-thomas-are-actually-about-her-husbands-abortion-stance_4485952.html\">texted<\/a> former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in November 2020, urging him to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>She also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/dem-attacks-on-ginni-thomas-are-political-hit-mcconnell_4372412.html\">corresponded<\/a> with Meadows during \u201cStop the Steal\u201d on Jan. 6, 2021, saying how she supported the effort to protest the certification of election results.<\/p>\n<p>After her message exchanges with Meadows were exposed in March, Ginni Thomas was heavily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/ginni-thomas-not-trying-to-overturn-the-elections-attorney_4363530.html\">criticized<\/a> by the Democrats for trying to \u201coverturn the 2020 election.\u201d At the time, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the Democrats\u2019 attacks were \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/dem-attacks-on-ginni-thomas-are-political-hit-mcconnell_4372412.html\">a political hit<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> GOP Response <\/p>\n<p>Jim Banks (R-Ind.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who were GOP nominations to sit on the Jan. 6 committee but were rejected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), also took to Twitter to voice support for Ginni Thomas in March.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe left\u2019s vicious and dishonest attacks on Justice Thomas and his wife Ginni prove how important they are to the conservative movement,\u201d Banks <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepJimBanks\/status\/1507488686316965895\">wrote<\/a> on March 25.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
