Jason Crow (D-Colo.) said at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on July 22.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYoung folks actually have very little expectation of privacy; that\u2019s what the polling and the data show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople will very rapidly spit into a cup and send it to 23andMe and get really interesting data about their background,\u201d he said, referencing the popular DNA testing and ancestry service.<\/p>\n<p>But governments can \u201cactually take someone\u2019s DNA \u2026 you know, their medical profile, and you can target a biological weapon that will kill that person or take them off the battlefield or make them inoperable,\u201d Crow <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/24\/rep-crow-warns-enemies-could-use-dna-tests-to-kill-americans\/\">added<\/a>, saying that companies such as\u00a023andMe can sell a person\u2019s DNA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd guess what? Their DNA is now owned by a private company,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/intelligence-committee-members-warn-bioweapons-targeting-dna-individual-americans\">said<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cIt can be sold off with very little intellectual property protection or privacy protection, and we don\u2019t have legal and regulatory regimes to deal with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Officials need to have a \u201cpublic discussion\u201d about the protection of DNA information, health care information, and related data, as such data can \u201cbe procured and collected by our adversaries for the development of these systems,\u201d Crow said, referring to biological weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The company 23andMe previously denied selling the private information, including DNA data, of its customers. Representatives of 23andMe didn\u2019t respond by press time to a request by The Epoch Times for comment.<\/p>\n<p> China, Russia Collecting Americans\u2019 DNA <\/p>\n<p>About a year ago, Sen.
