He was tried as an adult and sentenced to 50 years to life behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>However, because Cachu was a minor when he committed the crime, the DA\u2019s office had to present evidence at a transfer hearing to an adult facility when he aged out of juvenile detention. The deputy district attorney who handled his case, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lifelong-dem-turns-party-will-vote-gop-first-time-murder-son\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gasc\u00f3n<\/a> ally Alisa Blair, declined to do so \u2014 making him a free man late last year, just six years into that 50-year sentence.<\/p>\n<p>(This isn\u2019t the only hardened criminal Gasc\u00f3n has let back out on the street \u2014 and sadly, Gasc\u00f3n isn\u2019t the only woke, Soros-backed DA that\u2019s been doing this. They also allegedly observed a firearm in his waistband.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then made a move to flee in his vehicle before he drove it into a curb. Fox News reported that Cachu allegedly tried to ditch the firearm during the chase; authorities recovered it.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83e\udd2fAndres Cachu freed decades early by woke reforms arrested <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YBYDTktFuQ\">https:\/\/t.co\/YBYDTktFuQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 JDVFL (@JDVFL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JDVFL\/status\/1550474210912395267?\">July 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The media release says he now \u201cfaces one felony count each of fleeing a pursuing peace officer\u2019s motor vehicle and driving against traffic, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance with a firearm as well as two counts of possession for sale of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and cocaine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kathy Cady \u2014 an attorney representing the family of Amela, who was shot in the back by Cachu as he struggled with a group of men who were trying to steal his bicycle outside a restaurant \u2014 condemned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/la-mother-hit-run-victim-voted-da-gascon-now-supports-recall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gasc\u00f3n<\/a> for Amela\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<div id=\"in-article-related\" class=\"in-article-more inner-content\">\n<p>Related:<\/p>\n<div class=\"in-article-more-right\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/defund-police-failure-minneapolis-residents-taking-matters-hands-amid-crime-surge\/\" data-type=\"Internal link\" data-type-location=\"in-content-related\">&#8216;Defund the Police&#8217; Failure Has Minneapolis Residents Taking Matters into Their Own Hands Amid Crime Surge<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHe never should have been out on the streets,\u201d Cady said, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only reason he was out on the streets is because of Gascon\u2019s policies and his handpicked surrogate, Alisa Blair, refused to put up any evidence \u2026 at the hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gasc\u00f3n, as if it even needed saying, engaged in\u00a0<em>no<\/em> self-reflection after the arrest. Instead, he expressed regret \u2026 that Cachu didn\u2019t get the social services help he needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are disappointed to learn that Mr. Cachu has not availed himself of the support that he so clearly needs, grateful that no physical harm came to anyone, and are committed to holding him accountable as an adult in this case,\u201d Gasc\u00f3n said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been questions about a prior case involving Mr. Cachu, where he was sentenced as a juvenile. As California law requires, our office reviewed\u00a0 Mr. Cachu\u2019s original case, where he had been sentenced as an adult despite committing the crime as a minor. Based upon the facts of the case and the individual characteristics of Mr. Cachu we determined that we would not likely prevail in a transfer hearing because we could not prove that he would not have benefited from juvenile resources at the time of the original offense \u2013 again, as the law requires.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe asked the court to remand Mr. Cachu to the Department of Juvenile Justice and that request was denied. We are frustrated to see that he is struggling, and again, will hold him accountable for the charged offenses,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>As always, Gasc\u00f3n seems wholly unconcerned that his soft-on-crime policies \u2014 particularly with juvenile defendants \u2014 will ever have real-world consequences. This is a guy let out 44 years too early who led authorities on a chase while he was intoxicated and illegally in possession of a firearm, yet Gasc\u00f3n strikes a tone not unlike a disappointed Ward Cleaver after Wally and the Beav got up to some shenanigans.<\/p>\n<p>On top of all that, the woke DA \u2014 elected in 2020, partially thanks to $4.7 million in donations from a PAC funded by George Soros, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10894581\/George-Soross-groups-spent-40-million-elect-75-progressive-prosecutors-decade.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.K. Daily Mail<\/a> \u2014 falls back on rhetoric about reforming young criminals through social support that\u2019s so flimsy it could be debunked by one listen to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j7TT4jnnWys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gee Officer Krupke!<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Two other high-profile cases involving juvenile defenders are part of the reason Gasc\u00f3n is facing a second recall attempt. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/3561848-heres-what-to-know-about-the-los-angeles-county-da-recall-effort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder\/County Clerk found that a random sample of the signatures met the threshold to verify the full raw count of 715,833 signatures and see if the petitioners met the 566,857 valid signatures necessary to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/group-seeking-recall-la-da-gascon-reaches-required-number-signatures-ballot-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trigger the recall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The highest-profile case was that of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/complete-mockery-justice-progressive-da-sends-26-year-old-child-molester-juvenile-facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hannah Tubbs<\/a>, a transgender offender previously known as James Edward Tubbs. In January, Tubbs pleaded guilty to a sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl in a Denny\u2019s bathroom in 2014. However, because he was 17 at the time and Gasc\u00f3n has shied away from prosecuting those who committed crimes as juveniles as adults \u2014 no matter how old they are <em>now<\/em> \u2014 Tubbs was offered a plea deal that included two years in a juvenile facility.<\/p>\n<p>In a call to his father, Tubbs boasted about the light sentence, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/infamous-trans-sex-offender-sentenced-mere-2-years-juvenile-facility-arrested-murder-charge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">telling his dad<\/a>, \u201cdon\u2019t worry about it. \u2026 I\u2019m [going to] plead out to them and plead guilty. They\u2019re going to stick me on probation.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Tubbs was convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a Denny\u2019s bathroom in Palmdale in 2014 at age 17.<\/p>\n<p>In one call in November 2021 while in LA County custody, Tubbs makes extremely crude, disparaging remarks about the girl and his sexual desires for her at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bill Melugin (@BillFOXLA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillFOXLA\/status\/1495791020314877967?\">February 21, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s going to be dropped. It\u2019s gonna be done, done. I won\u2019t have to register nothing \u2026 if there is a next time I ever get in trouble, I\u2019m leaving the state, I\u2019m leaving the country. I ain\u2019t staying!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>However, in May \u2014 before he could be released \u2014 the 26-year-old Tubbs was charged with murder and robbery in relation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/infamous-trans-sex-offender-sentenced-mere-2-years-juvenile-facility-arrested-murder-charge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to a 2019 incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In another case, a 16-year-old who pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/horrific-video-teen-car-mows-mother-infant-son-given-puny-sentence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mother and her infant son<\/a> was given mere months in a \u201cjuvenile probation camp.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>WARNING: The following video contains scenes which some may find disturbing.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><noscript>Watch the latest video at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\">foxnews.com<\/a><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFortunately, the baby was uninjured, and the mother received a laceration to her elbow,\u201d Gasc\u00f3n\u2019s office told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/los-angeles-da-gascon-sentence-teen-mom-infant-video\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Sheriff\u2019s Department agreed with the felony charges that were filed. At arraignment, the minor admitted two felony counts of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and one felony count of hit-and-run. The Probation Department recommended, and the court sentenced the minor to a youth camp for five to seven months, an appropriate resolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All\u2019s well that ends well, right? I mean, until it turns out that wasn\u2019t the end of it and, thanks to soft-on-crime policies, people who should be behind bars are instead out on the streets, committing crimes.<\/p>\n<p>If it turns out the recall petitioners have enough signatures, Gasc\u00f3n had better hope <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/huge-setback-soros-san-frans-progressive-da-booted-leftist-citys-residents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Soros<\/a> has a bit more money left for him in the coffers.
