Actor Timothy Olyphant, who is returning as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, was present and by one account, helped to shield a production assistant from gunfire.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Production on <em>Justified: City Primeval<\/em> was suspended for the rest of the week and is reportedly expected to resume Monday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2018Justified\u2019 Sequel Stops Production After Shooting Incident Near\u00a0Set <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8TahtIORXp\">https:\/\/t.co\/8TahtIORXp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/THR\/status\/1550527618583531521?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The violent incident is the latest embarrassment for Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), who has presided over an epidemic of gun violence that has left hundreds dead. \u00a0As Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/02\/2021-deadliest-year-in-quarter-of-a-century-in-lori-lightfoots-chicago\/\">reported<\/a>, 2021 was the\u00a0deadliest year in a quarter of a century for Chicago, with\u00a0797 homicides. There were\u00a03,561 shooting incidents in 2021, exceeding the previous year by more than 300.<\/p>\n<p>During the most recent July 4th weekend in Chicago, 71 people were shot, eight of them fatally, Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/05\/at-least-71-shot-over-july-4th-weekend-in-mayor-lori-lightfoots-chicago\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident on <em>Justified<\/em> comes just a few days after a crew member on NBC\u2019s <em>Law &#038; Order: Organized Crime<\/em> series was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2022\/07\/19\/law-order-organized-crime-crew-member-shot-dead-near-shows-brooklyn-set\/\">shot to death<\/a> as he waited to begin working on location in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Police Department reported that the 31-year-old, male, crew member was shot to death inside his car and that it appears that someone opened his driver\u2019s side door and opened fire.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Follow David Ng on Twitter\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HeyItsDavidNg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">@HeyItsDavidNg<\/a>.
