This month, his popularity declined even further.<\/p>\n<p>About 60 percent of Americans disapprove of the president, according to <em>FiveThirtyEight<\/em>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/biden-approval-rating\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polling average<\/a>. Just 38 percent of Americans approve. Biden&#8217;s disapproval has risen and his approval has fallen by a few points in the last month, when he first became the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/joe-biden-historic-failure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most unpopular commander in chief<\/a> in recorded history.<\/p>\n<p>Voters are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/national\/polls-voters-blame-biden-for-inflation\/article_bf2811f6-aa0e-11ec-bde8-c3db8056c94f.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blaming<\/a> Biden for runaway inflation and the poor state of the nation\u2019s economy. Biden\u2019s historically low approval could spell <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/393626\/usual-midterm-indicators-unfavorable-democrats.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trouble<\/a> for Democrats ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. Some polls suggest that even Democrats and racial minorities are beginning to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/11\/us\/politics\/biden-approval-polling-2024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">turn<\/a> on the embattled president.<\/p>\n<p>Modern presidential approval polling <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/opinion\/polling-matters\/352739\/measuring-presidential-job-approval-years.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">began<\/a> with Gallup\u2019s surveys during the Harry S. Truman administration. Biden is the least popular president in almost 80 years of public opinion data collection.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at net approval, or a president\u2019s approval rating subtracted from their disapproval rating, doesn\u2019t paint a much more favorable picture for Biden.
