The monument was completely demolished later that day due to safety concerns, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a Facebook post allegedly shows a screen grab of a news article that claims a man has been convicted for the explosion. <span>\u201cSchizophrenic man convicted over blowing up the Georgia Guidestones. \u2018No need to thank me, a small Monero donation is enough,&#8217;\u201d reads the alleged July 13 article\u2019s headline. The article\u2019s byline claims it was published by the Daily Mail and The Associated Press.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The alleged article is digitally fabricated. No such story appears on The Associated Press\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/\"><span>website<\/span><\/a> or the outlet\u2019s verified<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile\/100059337559482\/search\/?q=shizophrenic%20man%20georgia%20guidestones\"><span>Facebook<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=shizophrenic%20man%20georgia%20guidestones%20%20(from%3Aap)&#038;src=typed_query\"><span>Twitter<\/span><\/a><span> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/apnews\/?hl=en\"><span>Instagram<\/span><\/a><span> accounts.
