The various shots that people are getting now cover that,\u201d the president said. \u201cThey\u2019re okay, you\u2019re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/21\/joe-biden-positive-covid-19-coronavirus-karine-jean-pierre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> Thursday that the president tested positive and is taking Paxlovid. She assured the public he is fully vaccinated and boosted and is experiencing mild symptoms such as a runny nose, fatigue, and the \u201coccasional dry mouth\u201d which began yesterday evening. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/27\/joe-biden-97-98-percent-vaccine-herd-immunity-coronavirus-covid-19-fauci\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Says 97% To 98% Of Americans Need To Be Vaccinated Before Returning To Normal)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/11\/joe-biden-coronavirus-vaccine-second-dose-on-camera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">received<\/a> his first shot of the Pfizer vaccine in March 2020 and a second dose in January 2021. He received two booster shots, the first in September and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/03\/30\/biden-receive-second-covid-booster-00021667\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second<\/a> in March. The president last tested negative for COVID-19 on June 12, the White House said.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/townhallcom\/status\/1550145378682544129\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> reporters Tuesday that people need to get vaccinated in order to stop the rising cases of COVID. The president also made similar claims in a December 2021 interview that vaccinated individuals cannot spread COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Not the vaccinated, the unvaccinated. That\u2019s the problem,\u201d Biden said in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/exclusive-news-center-7-sits-down-one-on-one-with-president-joe-biden\/I4DCECFX4JDDTOC2BMWMB6XTAE\/\">interview<\/a>.\u00a0 \u201cEverybody talks about freedom about not to have a shot or have a test. Well guess what? How about patriotism? How about you make sure you\u2019re vaccinated, so you do not spread the disease to anyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>White House senior medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/sunday-talk-shows\/553773-fauci-vaccinated-people-become-dead-ends-for-the-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> in May 2021 that the vaccinated people become \u201cdead ends\u201d for the virus due to the high unlikelihood that vaccinated individuals will spread it.<\/p>\n<p>Several medical professionals and experts warned that vaccinations can reduce the spread of the virus, but not eliminate it entirely, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2021\/dec\/22\/joe-biden\/biden-says-vaccinated-people-cant-spread-covid-19-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to PolitiFact. Bill Hanage, an associate professor of epidemiology at Harvard, said breakthrough infections could still occur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe knew that vaccinated people could become infected with delta and shed viable virus in large amounts,\u201d Hanage said. \u201cWhile data are emerging and not yet complete for omicron, this appears to be even more the case for that variant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Deborah Birx, the COVID adviser under former President Donald Trump\u2019s administration, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/23\/deborah-birx-joe-biden-covid-coronavirus-vaccine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">testified<\/a> that the U.S. was not \u201clying\u201d but instead \u201chopeing\u201d that the vaccines would prevent the transmission of COVID-19 during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee in June.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, 67% of the U.S. population have received two doses of the vaccine, <a href=\"https:\/\/covid.cdc.gov\/covid-data-tracker\/#vaccinations_vacc-people-additional-dose-totalpop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
