Another 37% said they were unsure.<\/p>\n<p>When asked that question by the same poll team in January 2021, 58% said they had a favorable opinion of Mrs. Biden.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In other words, Jill Biden has hit a new low in CNN polling, which has been <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22088874\/cnn-poll-biden-approval-rating.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tracking her numbers<\/a> since the summer of 2020 through this month. In a late August 2020 poll, Jill Biden had a 46% favorable opinion among voters. It hit a high point just before Joe Biden took office, at 58% in January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout Joe Biden\u2019s presidency, Jill Biden has increasingly had to step in and run interference as President Biden\u2019s penchant for gaffes and flubs, and just generally looking out of it at times during speaking engagements has only gotten worse. Perhaps most notably, Mrs. Biden has sometimes had to correct her husband in the way he has <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/sister-toldjah\/2022\/03\/15\/jill-biden-awkwardly-steps-in-after-joe-biden-mangles-announcement-about-the-first-gentleman-n536440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrongly referred to<\/a> Vice President Kamala Harris. At certain points, Jill Biden has also played \u201cdirector\u201d in showing him which way he <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/bonchie\/2021\/10\/18\/jill-biden-steps-in-to-save-a-confused-meandering-joe-biden-at-white-house-event-n458879\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has to go<\/a> when either being led off a stage or when he <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/sister-toldjah\/2022\/04\/18\/things-get-really-awkward-between-joe-and-jill-during-white-house-easter-egg-roll-n551838\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has to<\/a> remain seated. <\/p>\n<p>There have also been occasions where Jill Biden has <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/brandon_morse\/2022\/03\/02\/bidens-primary-handler-jill-biden-tries-to-lead-biden-away-from-reporters-after-abortion-question-n530498\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rescued<\/a> Joe from uncomfortable questions that were being asked by the press.<\/p>\n<p>During a private DNC donor gathering earlier this month, Mrs. Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2022\/07\/17\/jill-biden-whines-to-private-donors-about-the-duties-of-the-presidency-interfering-with-joes-hopes-and-plans-n596506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly whined<\/a> about how the \u201cproblems of the moment\u201d interfered with Joe Biden\u2019s ability to do his job, problems that nearly every President throughout the course of American history has had to face at some point. She went on further to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/16\/politics\/jill-biden-joe-biden-democratic-national-committee-fundraiser\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bemoan the fact<\/a> that her role as First Lady was not what she had envisioned it to be:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Biden said she, too, felt hamstrung in her role as first lady, and had been unexpectedly pulled in other directions from the course she initially intended.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was saying to myself, \u2018Okay, I was second lady. I worked on community colleges. I worked on military families. I\u2019ve worked on cancer.\u2019 They were supposed to be my areas of focus. But then when we got [in the White House,] I had to be, with all that was happening, the first lady of the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In other words, real life intruded on her just like it does for most average Americans, and Jill Biden just couldn\u2019t deal.
