Susan Wild and business owner Lisa Scheller is on the ballot in Pennsylvania\u2019s 7th Congressional District general election.<\/p>\n<p>Circumstances are different this year compared to 2020, when Wild defeated Scheller, 51.9 percent to 48.1 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the inflation rate of 9.1 percent is the highest it\u2019s been in 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden\u2019s approval rating plummeted to 36 percent, the lowest level in his first term, according to the CNBC All-America Economic Survey released on July 18.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple surveys show that Americans are most concerned about inflation, gas prices, and the overall economy. The discontent could lead to the Republicans regaining control of the U.S. House.<\/p>\n<p>A net gain of five seats in the 435-seat chamber this November will allow the GOP to recapture the majority it lost in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Cook Political Report ranks the 7th District race as \u201cLeans Republican.\u201d FiveThirtyEight calls it \u201chighly competitive\u201d with a slight Republican lean. Sabato\u2019s Crystal Ball and Inside Elections call it a toss-up.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/wild-1200x1200-1.jpg\"><\/a> Democratic Rep. (Courtesy of Congresswoman Susan Wild). <\/p>\n<p>Wild was named to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) \u201cFrontline\u201d program, which provides extra resources and support to vulnerable candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The National Republican Congressional Committee added Scheller as a member of the Young Guns\u201d program, which is led by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and provides candidates with \u201cthe tools they need\u201d to win.<\/p>\n<p>Many political strategists agree that the escalating inflation rate and Biden\u2019s declining approval numbers are among the reasons why the race between Wild and Scheller is expected to be tight.<\/p>\n<p>Redistricting is another factor.<\/p>\n<p>The 7th District spans Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties along with a small part of Monroe County.<\/p>\n<p>Carbon County, which President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> won with 65 percent<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A rematch between incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep.
