Lindsey Graham\u00a0(R-S.C.) said he has not agreed to testify before a special grand jury in Georgia that\u2019s investigating\u00a0possible unlawful interference\u00a0in the 2020\u00a0election, despite reports stating that he has.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmaker was said to have reached an agreement with\u00a0Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis regarding the service of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-subpoena\">subpoena<\/a> on Tuesday afternoon, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goupstate.com\/story\/news\/local\/2022\/07\/19\/senator-lindsey-graham-agrees-testify-georgia-grand-jury-case-probing-donald-trump-election-defeat\/10089692002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noindex noopener noskim\">Spartanburg Herald-Journal<\/a>\u00a0reported. However, that agreement maintains\u00a0Graham\u2019s right to fight the subpoena, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Graham was among a number of former President Donald Trump allies who were issued a\u00a0subpoena by a\u00a0Fulton County election inquiry in July.<\/p>\n<p>The inquiry is seeking evidence related to an alleged \u201ccoordinated effort\u201d by Trump and others to influence and overturn the results of the November 2020 election in the state of Georgia and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator Graham has\u00a0agreed to accept service of a subpoena\u00a0for testimony from the Fulton County Special Purpose Grand Jury in Atlanta, Ga., without waiving any challenges or any applicable privilege and\/or immunity,\u201d the agreement reached this week states, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Adams, attorney for Willis and the special grand jury, confirmed that an agreement had been reached to the\u00a0Spartanburg Herald-Journal,\u00a0adding that he was \u201cpleased.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was no issue for a South Carolina court to decide,\u201d Adams said. \u201cThe appropriate place to resolve these issues is Atlanta, Georgia, where the court hearing the issue is. We got an agreement today with the senator that basically agrees with our position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u2018Not Agreed to Testify\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop told the outlet that the GOP senator had only agreed to move the case to a federal district court in Georgia, and will continue to fight the subpoena.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGraham has not agreed to testify,\u201d Bishop said. \u201cGraham will fight the subpoena in federal district court in Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has contacted Graham\u2019s office for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for the Republican lawmaker<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
